One can always tell if someone is gifted if they know what to look for. Luckily, most people are ignorant as to what it is or that we even exist.
What makes us different happens to be that we have a tattoo on our right wrist that symbolizes our gift. That's why we're so easily identifiable if our secret is known. But it's not our tattoo that make us special; it's what it represents.
As I said, sometimes it's good to be noticed and sometimes it's not. For example, people gifted with talents such as singing or healing, that would definitely be indicated as a blessing; but for others such as me, if people discover the truth then they will fear you.
Now some might say that that is a good thing, but let me tell you that there is a difference between fear and respect. When people fear you, they have a tendency to judge you and automatically assume that you are either an evil or an unfriendly person. In some cases this is true, but in mine it is not.
Unfortunately for me, I have one of the most feared gifts of all; the gift of killing.
