Laurence: Chapter Nine

I burst out laughing. Emmalyn had no clue how to act dumb and it was amusing to watch. She valued intelligence, much like Polly from the beach. I've said that before so many times...

"Cadenza, like truth or dare?" She had said.

Priceless!!!

"Haha! Truth, honey!" Cadenza called. Emmalyn started to respond but was cut off by Nicole.

"Emmalyn, you need to act dumb, remember?" Nicole said, smirking. Emmalyn scowled and Nicole and I started laughing again.

"So, Cadurnza." Emmalyn started. "What does L, O, L, mean?"

I cracked up big time.

"Oh, Emmalyn, dear. LOL means Laughing Out Loud. But some people use it as Lots Of Love."

"But then, why does, like, people, like, say LOL if they aren't laughing?" Emmalyn asked, struggling.

"Oh, Emmy." Nicole said sighing.

"Yeah, people just do that." Zoey added.

"I just type: hahaha." I pitched in.

"I actually laugh." Aphmau said.

"Emmalyn it's been five minutes." Kiki said.

"Thank Irene!" Emmalyn gasped.

"Kiki, truth or dare?" Cadenza asked.

Kiki looked at Cadenza for a few seconds before answering with a grin.

"Dare."

"Prank call the last number on your contacts." Cadenza answered. Kiki pulled out her phone and scrolled down to the bottom of the list, biting her lip when she read the name.

"Zane."

Nicole gasped and Aphmau shook her head. I laughed, remembering when Aphmau prank-called him at Brendan's sleepover.

"Well?" Alexis said. "Are you gonna do it?"

"I don't want to hurt Zane..." Kiki said. She pulled off her sock.

"Are you serious?" Kawaii~Chan asked. She grabbed her phone and handed it to Nicole.

"Hey! I took off a sock!" Kiki complained. Nicole ignored her.

"That doesn't mean I can't call him for fun." She said grinning.

"Not on my phone though!" Kiki complained. I wondered what Zane and her did with each others phone numbers. Did Zane text her or was she just hopelessly crushing? I want Kiki to be happy, but I hope that jerk doesn't hurt her. I caught Brendan's glance and could tell he was thinking the same thing.

"I'll use mine with the caller id off. He knows my number too." Nicole clarified, escaping Kiki to sit by Cadenza and I. She dialed.

"Shh." Dante said when Kawaii~Chan giggled.

"Heelllllo?" Zane asked. Nicole put on a slightly different voice and began to answer.

"Why, hello there is this Zane Ro'Meave?"

"This is, who is this?"

"My name is Emily Burton, and I am your family guidance counselor. I've recently found records on what your name means, would you like to hear it?"

Garroth smirked.

"Why not." Zane said. I almost laughed. I couldn't believe the evil High Priest of Okhasis was so easy to fool. Nicole flashed me a warning look and Cadenza put a finger to her lips. I wonder if Kiki sees him like this, nice and non-threatening.

"Well, I recently spoke with your brother Garroth. His name comes from Gareth, a knight of the Round Table. It means Gentle." Nicole said, convincingly.

"Ah, well that's very accurate. He's not a threat at all! Like a puppy, my big brother." Zane chuckled.

Cadenza covered my mouth as I tried not to burst out laughing. Garroth smiled at Nicole who flashed him a thumbs up.

"Yes, he seems very sweet." 'Emily' continued. "Now, Zane. Zane means gift of God. It also means handsome."

Kiki blushed.

"Why thank you m'lady Emily."

"You're most welcome. Anyways, I recently joined with this village, Phoenix Drop, and Lady Aphmau's been recording every single call I have as part of her permanent record."

"Wait. What?" Zane said.

"LATER LOSER!" Nicole said laughing. She shut the phone off and immediately Kiki grabbed hers and ran to the other room.

"Hey, Zane." I could hear her saying. "It wasn't recorded, someone was pranking you."

She waited for a reply.

"Yep, bye Zane!" Kiki said, shutting off her phone. She came back and sat down. Nicole and half the other people in the room stared at her.

"What? I can have friends!" She said shrugging. "Laurence, truth or dare?" She asked, eager to change the subject.

"Dare." I said, triumphantly.

"I dare you to eat or drink something Nicole makes." Kiki said, smiling. I looked at Nicole.

"Ooh." She said.

Nicole wasn't an amazing cook. Zoey tried to teach her a few times, but she just couldn't get it right, always burning or under-cooking things. She liked to make special smoothies as a joke though, and swap them with the real smoothies in the guard tower. She made a small cackle.

"Let's do this."

Sighing, I followed Nicole and Kiki upstairs to Aphmau's kitchen. Zoey kept everything neatly set up and Nicole grabbed a blender and plugged it in. She ran around the kitchen, grabbing various foods and sent Kiki out with a list. Kiki returned with some random foods and Nicole whipped it all up in the blender.

"Okay, Laurence." She said grinning. "I'm going to tell you what's in this, while you're drinking it."

I drank a mouthful. It tasted horrible. Mostly. There was a hint of fruit.

"So there's tomato, avocado, banana, olives," I stared at her. She stopped telling me and urged me to drink on. I did, sadly. "fish, bacon, ketchup..." She continues on. I finally downed the whole glass.

"Yay! You did it!" Aphmau said, climbing up the stairs. I wobbled.

"No he didn't." Nicole said.

I ran upstairs and threw up in the toilet. Nicole ran in and immediately backed out again.

"Ew. You okay?"

"I'm just peachy." I said glaring at her.

"Love you too." She smiled. I followed her slowly back to the basement.

Sorry I haven't really posted! I've procrastinated XD hehe!

Katelyn: Laurence, you look like you're going to be sick.

Nicole: He was.

Katelyn: Oh.

Nicole: Stop glaring at me Laurence, it was Kiki's fault.

Kiki: Don't look at me! You could've fed him honey for all I cared!

Laurence: Dang it Nicole!
