I just want to acknowledge the fact that yes, Jesus said "What good is it then to gain the whole world, but forfeit your soul?" (I have no idea where that is from in the Bible at the moment. I just have it memorized.) And yes, tobyMac said something like this too. The important thing here is that each one of those artists were quoting the Bible. And that's what Christian artists do. They put truth in their songs.
