Our Fate.

Chapter 42.

When elevator stop we rush out of building to parking. We get in our cars and drove to house in fast speed not caring about rules right now. I have to make sure my family is okay. When I turn into my house street I saw smoke in air. I speed up and stop in front of my house. Ambulances and fire brigade were already there doing their work.

I get out and rush to the ambulance where I saw my Mom. Doors were already open. I saw Mom lying with her eyes close. My eyes watered and shake her.

"Mom. Wake up." I said as my voice crack. She slowly open her eyes and give me a small reassuring smile.

"Rauhan. I am fine but-" her smile faded as she stop in mid sentence. I get serious. I look around but couldn't find Khadija.

"But? Where is Khadija?" I asked her. She look away with teary eyes. I was about to ask her again when someone call me from behind.

"Rauhan, she is in hospital right now. Let's go." Shaheer say. I nodded and a hospital man told me they are taking Mom to same hospital. I get in my car because they says I couldn't ride with Mom.

When we reach hospital they took Mom inside and we follow them behind. Shehroz stop at reception to ask Khadija room no. They say she was on first floor and they are also taking Mom there. I follow them and stop in front of Khadija room. I take a deep breath and get inside. There she was lying on bed with her eyes closed. She was sleeping peacefully. Wire were attach to her hands and arms. There are bandage on her right hand. Heart monitor were also there telling she is okay. My wife and my life is okay.

I walk to her and sit on chair by bed. I held her hand in mine and kissed it softly. I brushed her hairs from her forehead and kiss it lightly. I feel her fingers moving in my hand. I look at her and she slowly open her eyes and blink them few times.

"Khadija." I call her name softly. She look at me and smile.

"Rauhan" her voice was crack. I give her some water and she drank it quickly. I gently make her sit when she motion me to help her.

"How you get there?" She asked and her voice still different. She frowned and touch her neck before coughing a little.

"Don't talk too much. I am here because I got a call saying house was burning. When I get home they already took you here and I follow them behind when they were taking Mom here." I told her and gently held her hand again. She frowned before her eyes widened.

"Aunty? Where is she? Is she okay?" She asked worriedly. I nodded making her quiet.

"Yes Mom is okay. She had little burn mark on her hand but other is all okay." I assure her. She sigh in relief.

"Ammara? Where is she?" She asked confused. I remember I didn't see her outside or in ambulance.

"I don't know. I didn't see her." I shrugged not caring because she is more important for me.

"But-" I cut her off.

"Stop asking questions and take some rest. I will call doctor." I order her and she look at me surprise. She lay back on bed and I walk out of the room. I see doctor and ask her to check Khadija. After that I went in Mom room and saw her sitting talking to Dad, Shehroz and Shaheer.

"Mom how are you?" I asked her getting their attention. She smiled at me. A real smile.

"I am fine now. Where is Khadija? Is she okay?" She asked causing us to frown. I thought Mom didn't care about her.

"Yes but still doctor is checking her beside that she have her right hand is burned lightly." I said and sit on bed. She sigh and nodded.

"She saved my life today." She said looking at me.

"What you mean?" Dad asked Mom. She looked at him and give him a soft smile.

"I was in room when the house caught fire. I don't know what to do and I couldn't get up from bed. Then Khadija come in room and take me out." Mom explain us. Now I understand why she was worrying about Mom.

"That's good. Now at least you think she is not like the girl you think." Dad says rolling his eyes playfully. Mom give him a glare which make him swallow a lump. I smirked at them. I talk a little bit before going to talk doctors that I completely forget about.

They told me Khadija inhale smoke which caused her throats to damage. She will be okay. They also take her blood after I tell them about the things she was having headaches, dizzies and sleep. I walk back in her room where everyone was now. Mom was on wheelchair sitting by bed. Dad was sitting on chair and both Shehroz and Shaheer were standing on bed corner.

Mom apologize Khadija for her behaviour with her but I also notice she still keep distance with her. Dad thank her for saving Mom. Shehroz and Shaheer told her to get well soon. They saw her as their sister now. After an hour doctor come inside with a smile.

"Hello everyone." She smile at everyone before check Khadija sugar level and blood pressure.

"Is everything okay?" I asked doctor holding Khadija hand after Mom get to side.

"Yes everything is okay. But there is something I else I need to tell you all." She says and turn to Khadija who was looking at her confused and scared. Please don't tell me she was diagnosed by some disease.

"Is she okay?" I asked worriedly. I can't live if anything happen to her.

"Yes." She turned to Khadija and the next word she says let in shock.

"Mrs. Malik, you are pregnant."
