Recap:

“A bend in the road is not the end of the road, unless you fail to make the turn.” She told me.

I looked at her like she was speaking an alien language.

“San mo nanaman nakuha yan?” Tanong ko sa kanya.

“Sa facebook! (>v<)”

(Denise’s POV)

I’ve spent my days training with Nikki, pushing myself further. I thought that maybe if I push myself further, working myself to death, then maybe I would be stronger. That maybe I could grow stronger way faster.

But I was wrong. I was so wrong. Pinapagalitan pa nga ako ni Nikki eh. (-___-) She was like my mom. She scolds me whenever I overwork myself, which is everytime, by the way. She was this nagging older sister I never had. (-___-)

She taught me different fighting styles and martial arts over the past few weeks and with her being a prodigy, I was able to master all the techniques and martial arts she taught me in just a span of 3 weeks. She calls herself a prodigy, she calls me a genius. She said she had to learn those things for years while it only took me weeks. But that didn’t get into my head. I refuse to let it get into my head. Ayokong maging mayabang.

My newly acquired strength enables me to stand a fight against Nikki, but not enough to inflict serious injuries on her. She also taught me how to use different weapons, my personal favorite being archery. She also taught me how to use close combat weapons like daggers and knives. I learned that she has always been carrying around hidden weapons underneath her clothes. She said she loves her needles and throw knives. (>v<) I was so amazed when she showed me where she hid her weapons. I was so like, ‘Damn! She’s like a freaking ninja!’

And because I mentioned ‘ninja’ to her, it all led us both here, somewhere in the middle of Mt. Fuji. (-__-) Wanna know why? Because apparently, kailangan pang mag-hike sa bundok habang nagni-ninja training. (-___-) All th while that my tongue has been hanging off my mouth, she was just hopping and humming like it’s just a piece of cake to her. IT IS JUST A PIECE OF CAKE TO HER. (-____-) Damn this girl and her stamina. (-___-) I swear, she is not normal.

We reached the summit after 50 tripping face firsts and 100 songs. And let me tell you, IT WAS HELL. She made jump from tree to tree on our way up the mountain. It’s a surprise I haven’t broken a leg yet. Army training’s got nothing to say on my training.

“How long will it take ‘till I’m strong enough to face everyone?” I asked Nikki as I sat my tired butt on a big rock.
