What sort of man is Benvolio? Why? What do you think of him?

Benvolio is a peace keeper, a man of peace. His name means goodwill or well-wisher or peace maker, which could be why he tries to be one to a certain extent. I think Benvolio is a helpful, caring and understanding guy (I.i.160-235). He was there for Romeo when Romeo was down and Benvolio tried to make sure at the beginning of act I scene i that the four guys did not fight, even though they ended up doing so. Benvolio is just all out a goodhearted guy.
