Chapter 4 ~ Chris

Chris's POV

Chris smiled at all his fans as he moved up and down the line signing T-Shirts and everything else that was shoved his way. He loved his fans but sometimes his anxiety got the better of him, thankfully today wasn't one of those days. As he made his way down the red carpet he heard people start to cry out Sebastian's name and his attention is instantly pulled toward his Winter Soldier costar and friend. He chuckles inwardly at his choice of suit before turning back to answer some reporters questions. Suddenly a name he never thought he'd hear in the same vicinity of himself again is called and his heart clenches. His head immediately snaps toward the direction the calls had come from to see her standing there looking absolutely stunning.

Her hair was half pinned up half down with long curling tendrils coming down the side of her neck. She was smiling so brightly that it made the memory of when he first met her pop into his mind. Then as she joins Sebastian he clenches his jaw and looks away. He knew they were really good friends. Sebastian was always talking about her or on the phone with her. He didn't know why but it suddenly made him feel irritated. Clearing his throat he turn back to the interviewers for a moment before his publicist pushes him forward. He glances back to where he had last seen (Name) and he felt a knot fill his stomach as his eyes met hers.

He held her gaze for a moment, eyes wild with emotions, before she instantly looked away. He furrows his brow as he looks around him. "You okay?" He hears his friend, Scarlett, ask as she nears him and he nods.

"Yeah, just remembered something I forgot to do." He lies giving her a reassuring smile.

"Did you see Sebastian and (Name)?" She asks and the knot tightens in the pit of his stomach.

"Yeah," He says forcing a smile. "I did,"

"Do you think they finally started dating?" Chris hears another voice ask and turns to see his friend Anthony walking up beside him.

"I don't know, did he mention anything to you?" Scarlett asks as she looks up at Chris.

"No, I didn't even know he was bringing her." He replies as he looks over to see the Sebastian was bringing her over. She looked a little pale and he could clearly see that she was regretting coming here. He keeps his eyes focused on her as she and Sebastian walk up to the rest of them.

"Hey Stan," Anthony says hugging his friend.

"Hey Mackie," Sebastian replies giving him a one handed hug as the other hand was wrapped tightly around (Name)'s. She looks up and as her eyes meet his he felt that old pull that he experienced all those years ago in that elevator doorway. She stares at him and even though her lips didn't move he could swear he heard her say, "Crap."

"Um, this is (Name)," Sebastian says pulling the two of you from your staring contest. She blinks a few times before her eyes focus on Scarlett.

"Nice to finally meet Stan's girlfriend," Scarlett says and (Name)'s smile fades.

"We're not dating," Sebastian says quickly and Chris feels the knot loosen.

"No, just really good friends." (Name) says forcing a smile. Chris didn't fall for it. He could tell that she was becoming extremely uncomfortable.

"It's good to see you again," He hears himself say as he holds his hand out for her to take. He watches as she takes a deep breath before taking his hand and saying, "Likewise," As her hand takes his he feels that familiar surge of electricity and unconsciously starts rub his thumb over the top of her hand.

"You two know each other?" He hears Scarlett ask with a raised eyebrow making him turn toward her and (Name) pull her hand from his.

"Uh yeah," He says pulling his hand back to his side. "We met about, what, nine years ago?" He asks turning back to (Name) who nodded quickly.
