Chapter 5: you can't like my brother

Maddie's POV:

The next day Dad made Jack drive me to school.

We're currently in the car going to school right now, Jack hasn't really said anything to me. It's soo awkward. I don't wanna start w conversation because he will most likely just get mad at me.

We got to the school and I hopped out of the car faster than a bunny.

I walked in and ran up to Lucy and Sara.

"Hey girl!" Sara shouted.

I started breathing heavy because I was just running. I held my hand up and held my stomach, telling them to hold up.

"Who are you running from?" Lucy asked.

I slowed my breathing. "Jack."

Lucy and Sara laughed. "What did he do now?"

"It was just really awkward in the car with him this morning" I groaned.

"Ohhhh" Lucy said

"Can't be that bad" Sara said, "your brother is cute."

"Ew. Did you for real just say that? He is not cute." I wagged my finger in her face as I turned around and saw Jack walking in with Emily. Vomit all over myself.

"He's a major hot babe!" Sara shouted and pointed at him.

"He has a girlfriend anyway so" I smirked

"I'm gonna go talk to him" Sara smirked back at me and started walking away.

I pulled her back towards us. "No. Plus Emily is with him" I mumbled

"So what" Sara grinned at me

"Whatever"

Sara walked off and me and Lucy continued talking, I didn't wanna know what Jack and Sara would talk about so I didn't look over at them.

The bell rang to go to first period so Lucy and I said bye and I was off to English.

After school I went over to Lucy, she was talking to some boy.

"Hey" I said

"Hi!" Lucy smiled, "this is Cole"

"Hey Cole." I said simply

"Hey, what's your name?" Cole asked me.

"I'm Maddie, friend of Lucy." I said

Lucy whispered to me, "can you like leave?"

"Why?" I mumbled. I seem to mumble a lot, get used to it.

"Because" Lucy moaned

"Fine" I stomped over to Jack and he was with Emily and Johnson and Mallory. Ugh

"Hi" I mumbled

"Who's this?" Mallory asked. I thought she knew me. Oh wait, we haven't met Jack J has only told me about her.

"My little sister" Jack sassed looking at me and shooing me away

"I'm not leaving. Your supposed to take me home" I whined

"I drove you here, so no" Jack said, grabbing Emily's hand.

"How are ya Maddie?" Johnson asked, messing with my hair.

I laughed "I'm good"

I love Johnson. He's so funny and he's like the 'nice' big brother I never had.

"That's good" he smiled

"I guess we better go then, I'll take her home and I'll be back for basketball practice" Jack said

"Ight" Johnson said

"Mal are you gonna stay?" Johnson asked

"Probably" she said

"Mkay lets go to the gym" Johnson told her "bye squad"

They walk off hand in hand.

"Emily wanna come with?" Jack asked her

"Sure" she says

"Okay let's go" Jack said
