The sound of something banging against the wall practically smacked my eardrums. The entire class looked up to see a boy with disheveled black hair and scorching blue eyes standing breathless in the door way. His eyes were like ice, and I couldn’t seem to look away. He had a small grin on his face, “I’m that late, huh?” He seemed to be asking the question to himself and not Coach Tullo.
“Ash,” Coach mocked. “So nice of you to join us.”
Sharp eyebrows hooded the icy eyes, which immediately locked onto me. “Yeah,” he murmured, “It is.”
