This was a random idea that popped in my head during geometry class.

Derek woke at five AM his husband Stiles resting besides him his lean chest falling and rising with every breath he took. Derek slipped out of bed careful to not wake Stiles up, he trudge to the bathroom yawning. He switched on the restroom light and slipped off his pajamas stepping into the shower. He turned the knob to hot water the water hitting his body, he rolled his neck from left to right enjoying the warmth of the water.

He washed his hair soap suds forming on his head, he shut his eyes making sure that soap didn't get in his eyes. He stood under the water for a while longer just before getting out of the shower and wrapping a towel around his waist. The entire bathroom was humid from his shower steam coming out of the door when he walked out.

Derek checked to see that he only had twenty minutes to get dressed and head to work, he cursed under his breath slipping on a pair of boxers. He put on his dress clothes and shoes rushing out of the room his bag in his hand. He left their house completely forgetting the lunch stiles had made for him the night before.

His trip to UCLA was maybe forty minutes maybe shorter but he didn't mind the ride. Derek pulled into his parking spot and got out of his car ten minutes early to class, he locked his car and stepped into his lecture hall that was within the English department. He started writing down the topic of the day his hand writing surprisingly neat for a guy.

Derek wrote down the topic of the day whilst humming to himself. He checked the time and saw that class had started so he waited as student after student started to pile in looking completely worn out. Derek sort of felt bad for them but then again it was their choice to pick morning classes so he shrugged off whatever pity he had for them and started speaking.

"What makes an author a major author?" Derek spoke loudly so that his voice projected throughout the room, "is it his way with words, his understanding on certain topics, or is it simply because he's an attention grabber."

Stiles was about to walk out of his house ready for work when he saw Derek had forgotten his lunch for the day. He sighed grabbing it and taking it with him. This had been the first time in maybe a year Derek had forgotten his lunch and stiles couldn't blame the guy finals week was approaching rapidly stressing Derek out almost as much as his students. Stiles sang along to his music as he drove to UCLA.

Stiles parked leaving his blinkers on so that he wouldn't get a ticket, even though half the staff knew him. Stiles rushed into the English department the lunch in his hand, he slipped past a group of students apologizing in the process. Stiles slowly opened door so that he wouldn't make a sound coming in.

Derek's voice projected throughout the hall and Stiles felt himself grin at the sound of his husband's silky smooth voice. Stiles walked in to see Derek's back was to the class, Stiles footsteps made a small echoing sound as he started getting closer to Derek.

"Take your seat, we haven't the time for interruptions." Derek spoke to Stiles with out a look back.

Stiles was about to say something when a girl cut him off, "it's better to just do what he says."

Stiles weighed his options knowing that correcting Derek would embarrass him in front of his entire class, so he took a seat in the middle of the lecture hall where a couple of people blocked him from Derek's view. Stiles was assuming that none of them knew that he was Derek's husband so he sat down with Derek's lunch right in front of him and just listened to the sound of Derek's voice.

"Are you new?" A girl from behind him spoke.

"Who? Me?" Stiles looked back at her and she nodded.

"Well rule number one: in this class is never upset professor hotty." She grinned.

"Professor Hotty?" Stiles held back a grin.

"Yup, that's what he's called throughout campus." She shrugged.

"Note taken."

"Rule number two: never come unprepared." She pointed at his lunch bag.

"Does professor hotty get upset?" Stiles played along.

"Yup, he'll either kick you out or give you this whole speech after class."

"Wow..." Stiles breathed looking at Derek.

"I actually admire him though, he takes his job seriously." She smiled, "And that's an A in my book."

"Plus he looks really good in those pants." Another girl cut in.

"And his hair today is on point." A guy chipped in.

Stiles couldn't help but let a chuckle escape his lips, he never knew what other people thought of Derek until now and honestly he found it pretty funny. So he listened as Derek's students admired him, and how he looked today. Stiles found himself biting his lips at some of their wrong assumptions but he liked to hear what they had to say.

"I'll be surprised if he doesn't already have a wife." The same girl from earlier mumbled.

"I heard he has three." One of the jocks spoke up high fiving one of his friends.

"Psshh, as if." A girl three rows ahead of them scoffed.

"Well then what do you think Donnah?" The jock challenged.

"Well Jarhead, I think he probably has a wife and kid at home." Donnah scowled turning back to listen to what Derek was saying.

"What about you new kid, what do you think?" One of the guys tapped Stiles's shoulder.

"Uh..um..he's ya, know something I guess." Stiles sputtered.

"That's it? no first impressions?" The jock sighed.

"Bossy?" Stiles sounded unsure about his answer and they all knew it.

"Don't worry I'll get you filled in with all the gossip about professor hotty." The girl from earlier grinned.

"Uh..thanks." Stiles smiled still unsure if what he was doing was the right thing.

Stiles walked out the class undetected with the rest of the students, he waited until everyone was gone when he walked back in acting as if he had just shown up. Derek looked up from his stack of papers and smiled at Stiles who slowly jogged towards him with the lunch in his hands.

"I knew I was forgetting something this morning." Derek stood up giving Stiles a kiss on his cheeks.

"Its okay, I know how stressed you're gonna be this week." Stiles handed him his lunch with a smile.

"Didn't work start an hour ago for you?" Derek raised an eyebrow still smiling.

"I woke up late and called Scott he's cool with me being late." Stiles lied smoothly and Derek nodded buying it.

"Well thanks, babe." Derek pecked Stiles's lips.

"See you at home." Stiles kissed him back before walking away, "Love you."

"See you." Derek called after him,"and love you too."

Stiles sat in his car for several minutes before starting it up and driving away. He couldn't help but feel like what he was doing was wrong but he also couldn't help but have fun while doing it. No harm no foul he thought to himself while shrugging. He showed up to work late but then again he and Scott both owned the business they worked at so he knew missing an hour wasn't much harm.

"Where were you?" Scott questioned.

"If I tell you promise you won't think I'm crazy." Stiles bit his lip.

"Promise." Scott nodded crossing his heart.

"okay here goes nothing."
