Adam stood leaning a hip against the parked carriage, his eyes spewing desire as he watched a certain spoiled debutante, Dynasty Harrison.

Her hair was shorter than what was currently in style, it was a dark chestnut color and it reached the top of her shoulders. She was tall, her posture straight and posed. Her lashes were long and thick framing dark blue eyes. She wasn't nearly as curvaceous as he usually liked his women but in that moment he couldn't keep his eyes off her.

She knew he was watching her. He knew it because he was sure she was doing the same. The heightened color on her cheeks said it all. He let his eyes travel up her violet colored dress, stopping at her breast.

And suddenly she turned, her cheeks bright pink, her blue orbs glaring daggers at him. If looks could kill...He smiled at her then, a chuckle bubbling inside him.

"You're going to make the poor girl faint. Stop staring."

Adam laughed turning his attention to his very pregnant twin sister. "I wasn't staring...I was...observing."

Jewel raised a brow, "Does it look like I was born yesterday?"

He chuckled before shaking his head. "She was staring at me first."

"Oh I'm so sure. I don't care who started it first, give the poor girl a break, she's turning pink for heavens sake."

"I can't look?"

"No, you rake, you can't look because whenever you look you start to yearn for a touch."

His smile grew. "And is touching so wrong?"

She placed a hand on her round stomach, giving him a look of exasperation.

"Only when your intentions are not honorable."

"How do you know my intentions are not honorable?"

This time Jewel laughed, patting her brother on the arm. "Because you're a womanizer."

His eyes widened in feigned surprise. "Me? A womanizer? I assure you my intentions are nothing but honorable."

"Oh of course, so you're saying you would marry her?"

His smile widened and he sent a brief look in the girl's direction before saying, "Who can predict the future?"

Jewel rolled her eyes. "You're so full of it."

He wrapped an arm around his sister's shoulders. "Am I?"

She grinned. "Take me home you idiot."

He laughed, "Of course madam."

Adam helped his sister into her home. She had married a year ago and even now seeing her pregnant still had him reeling. She was no longer the little girl chasing after his coat tail.

He shook away his suddenly reminiscent thoughts and smirked.

"Where's your pirate?" He asked teasingly.

Jewel laughed, slapping him on the arm. "Stop it. You know he's not a pirate anymore."

Adam smiled at that. He was actually quite fond of his brother in law. After truly getting to know him he found that Emile was rather amusing. Emile had a humorous personality and a boisterous laugh and above all he loved Jewel uncontditionally.

They headed toward the room that had once been the parlor but now it was Emile's work space. He was an artist and made good money painting portraits and selling his art.
