Chapter 3 ~ Truths and Premieres

"(Name) calm down," She says using her mother voice making me instantly stop talking. "Em knew that if you knew she was sick you never would have came here and gotten away from all the bullshit back home. She loved you so much she wanted to make sure you were happy before she died. She," Karen pauses momentarily to wipe at tears that had started to form in her eyes. "Em wasn't trying to kill herself that night when she overdosed she was just tired of fighting a losing battle. She called me before it happened and even though she didn't tell me what she was doing, she made me promise never to tell you. She loved you so much."

"I wish she would have just told me. All this time I've thought that she died because I refused to answer my phone. I was out with Chris and I just thought she was bored. I didn't know she was gonna die. I never got to say goodbye. She left me here all alone. If I had to choose her or my life now I would chose her in a heartbeat." I cry as the tears start to pour from my eyes.

"I know (Name)," Karen says as she wraps her arms around me and holds me as I cry my eyes out.

"Why her?" I cry out as my knuckles turn white form holding tightly to my friend's jacket.

"I don't know (Name), but I do know that she wouldn't want you to blame yourself for her death cause it is not your fault. None of it. She was happy that she was able to get a taste of fame and to have us all there with her. She was truly happy. Her death was an accident. One that can never be undone but we shouldn't be crying over losing her we should celebrate the fact that we even knew her."

"You're right," I say as I pull away and wiping the tears from my eyes continues, "If she could see me know she'd kick my ass."

"Oh I have no doubt." Karen says making me laugh. "But at least you still have me and Sebastian, as well as Tommy and Kyle. We'll always be here for you."

"I don't think I could make it if I lost any of you too."

"Good, cause I don't plan on going anywhere. Now lets get you ready for this premier and a reunion with your ex. Speaking of exes does Sebastian know about you and Chris?" She asks raising an eyebrow at me.

"No, I never told him. Chris and I weren't together for very long and there was no actual recording of us being together I just decided not to mention it."

"Okay, that might have been a bad idea."

"Why?"

"Because he's your best friend, he's gonna feel betrayed."

"No he won't." I say smirking but I instantly turn straight faced as I see her staring at me with her famous mom look. "Dammit, I'll tell him on the way."

"Good, now let's get you ready."

"Thank you Karen, for everything."

"What's family for?" she asks a smile covering her lips.

I fiddled with the lace on my Vintage Strapless Mermaid Black Lace Appliqués Floor-Length Evening Dress making Karen slap my hand as she says, "Stop it!"

"I can't help it, I love this dress so much but I like literally cannot stop messing with the lace."

"If you keep messing with it you'll ruin it." She says and I instantly stop. I hadn't lied I loved this dress. It was a beautiful cream fabric covered by a black floral lace. It would be hard to run away in it and that fact I didn't like. I had no idea how tonight was gonna play out but I hoped it wouldn't be too chaotic. "Alright, go look at yourself." She says smiling at her handy work. I smile at her as I walk from the living room into my bedroom to use my body length mirror. Reaching it I stare at my reflection with wide eyes and a bright smile. I looked gorgeous.
