Love and Blood
Chapter Sixteen
"Where am I?" I asked myself, groggily. There was a small flicker of a candle in the distance. I looked around, and I was in the dungeon. I stood up slowly, I felt really dizzy.
"Abigail?" I heard a voice say in the cell next to me. I walked to the bars next to mine. I looked through them, at first I couldn't see but then my eyes focused.
"Mom?!" I said with a little confusion.
She walked towards me, and placed her hands on either side of my face. "Yes Abby, its me." Tears were coming to my eyes, at the sight of her.
"Where's dad?" I asked looking around.
"He's in the next cell down, he would be so happy to see you." She said smiling a sweet smile at me.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"That's not important, what's important is that you get out of here. Xavier needs you." She said looking across at the cell across the dungeon hall. I looked harder and there he was, lying on the dungeon floor. He didn't look to good, he looked sick. I ran towards his cell. "Xavier!" I called. He didn't move. "Xavier!" I called desperately, he still didn't move. I turned to look back at my mom. "What's wrong with him?"
"He needs you." My mother said to me. "He needs you know, it's in your destiny to stay with him. You need to go to him now sweetie."
"No mom he can just come and join us, I don't want to lose you again. Please!" I said pleading coming back over to her. I grabbed her hands. "Please mom."
"Sweetie, he needs you more then you think. And I am always with you. Here take this it might be of some help, and keep it to know that I am always with you." She took off her necklace, it was a key with a heart on it. It was the necklace my dad gave my mom when they found out they were pregnant with me. "Now go he needs you." She put her hands on either side of my face, then kissed my forehead. And I went back to darkness.
The darkness faded, and I opened my eyes. I was laying on the floor in the middle of the cell. I shot up, and looked over at the next cell where my mother was. "Mom?" I called. She didn't come, but then I remembered Xavier, I ran to the other side of my cell that Xavier was he wasn't there either.
"But it was so real" I said to myself. The dungeon door slammed open, and I ran back towards the middle of the cell, and laid back on the floor and pretended to be passed out again. I heard fast footsteps and dragging off feet. They were walking towards my cell. I opened one eye to peak they were at the cell across from mine, they threw someone in their hard. I remembered that Xavier was suppose to be in that one, I screamed in my head as the guard went and kicked him in the stomach so hard that I actually heard one of his ribs crack. I screamed louder in my head. He walked out of his self and locked it, he glanced over towards my cell, I caught a glimpse of his face before I shut my eye.
It was Ty, I remembered him he took Xavier away to the dungeon before. I heard him walk away, and finally left the dungeon. I stood up fast and ran towards the front bars of my cell. "Xavier!" I called him in a loud whisper. "Xavier?!" He still didn't respond. I had to get to him, but I didn't have super strength any more, I was stuck. But then I remembered the necklace my mom gave me. I felt up to my neck, and there was a necklace. I took it off and it was my mother's necklace. Was that a dream or was that real? I thought to myself, but I put it to the back of my mind for a now.
I ran towards the door of my cell. I put the necklace into the lock, and juggled it around, until I heard a click. Excited swept over me, I ran towards Xavier's and unlocked his cell with my necklace too. I ran towards him, and fell to my knees next to him. "Xavier." I whispered and touched his arm. "Xavier?" I whispered again this time grabbing his hand. "Xavier!" I said desperate to see his green eyes, I didn't know weather he was dead or not but I kissed him on the lips. I kissed him with passion, weather was dead or not.
I felt a hand on the back of my head, I was about to pull back from him, because I thought that the hand was going to pull my hair. But as soon as I pulled away it pulled me back towards Xavier. Tears came to my eyes in an instant, I moved my hands on either side of his face, and pulled back from the kiss gently. "You're alive." I cried happy tears.
"Yes, I am." He said with a smile, but his voice sounded weak.
"Why are you here?" I asked fill of concern.
"I wasn't going to lose you." He said, trying to sit up, but he groaned in pain as he did.
"Don't get up, I think he broke your rib." I said trying to push him back down.
"No we have to get out of here, I have to get up." He said managing to sit up, he was holding his side.
"Hold on." I said, I remembered something, I got up, and paced back in forth in the cell. Cessial said that if another vampire drinks another vampire's blood its life draining to the one that's getting its blood drank. So that might or must mean that the other vampire grows in strength or power. That's what Xavier needed, my blood. I took my thumbnail, and cut my arm, and ran towards him. "Drink." I ordered him.
He looked at my arm with wide eyes, "No! I wont you don't know what happens when a vampire drinks another vampires blood."
"Yes I do! Its life draining, I know it makes me weak, please just do it, I want you to, you need the strength more than I do." I said moving my arm closer to his mouth.
"But-" I stopped him.
"Don't argue, just do it, please."
"Fine! I will! But promise me you will stop me." He said.
"I promise." I said with a reassuring smile, he didn't protest anymore, he did, as I wanted him to. He pulled my arm closer to his mouth, and before he bit in, he said, "I love you Abigail." And then he bit into my arm. It felt worse then it did in my dream, I was getting weaker by the seconded. After maybe a minute I was seconds away from it all going dark again. "Xavier stop." I said weakly. He didn't stop. I gathered up the strength to push him, off. "Stop Xavier, stop." I said breathlessly, and weak. He looked like was going to attack me, I blinked and then he was back to normal. He was standing, and not holding his side. He walked over to me. I looked up at him, he then knelt down to my height, and kissed me. "Thank you." He whispered, and then scooped me up in his arms. He started to walk out of his cell, but then a thought came to me, Dracula, he will and surely can kill Xavier.
"Xavier wait I have an idea, but you have to go back in your cell, and acted passed out again. And I have to go back in my cell. But I need you to keep your cool and go along with the plan. Dracula is going to come down here." I said.
He looked like he was going to protest but I stopped him before he could say anything. "You have to trust me on this one, please." I said looking up at him a puppy dog eyes.
He threw his head back, and huffed. "Fine, but if he does anything to hurt you, I am going to do something." He said looking at me seriously.
"Deal, now please put me down, I have to lock you back up." He did as he was told, he wasn't arguing with me. He put me on my feet, he walked into he cell, and just fell to the floor. I was about to ask him if he was ok, but he beat me. "I am fine, I have to look like I got thrown in right." He said with a wink. I gave him a weak, smile. I closed his cell door and locked it.
As I walked back towards my cell Xavier whispered. "I love you." And I whispered back to him. "I love you too, now please act passed out." He laughed and he didn't speak again. I stumbled back to my cell I walked back in, and locked myself in.
I fell against the bars, and put my feet under me, and rested my head against the bars. "Dracula!" I called, using all the strength I had left to get this plan into action. "Dracula!" I called again, I a sweet voice, and that time the dungeon door opened and it was him. Lets hope this works. I thought to myself.
