This story has lived in my head for a long time, and I'm incredibly excited (and a little nervous) to finally share it with you.
When Dragons Wake is the first book in The Blood Covenant Trilogy, a fantasy series filled with royal courts, ancient magic, political intrigue, rebellion, betrayal, complicated loyalties, slow-burn romance, and — of course — dragons.
At the heart of it is Eve, a princess who has spent most of her life believing she understands the people she loves and the world she was born into. She is about to discover that both are far more complicated than she ever imagined.
This is very much a character-driven story, so alongside the larger fantasy plot, expect complicated relationships, friendships, grief, family, morally grey choices, and characters who sometimes make decisions you may desperately want to yell at them for.
A small note before you begin: this is Book One, so not every mystery will be answered here. Some secrets and storylines are deliberately meant to unfold across the trilogy.
