Chapter 3 ➡ WHAT?!
"Sissy!" Darlene called me when she saw me, she was sitting in the couch. Parang she's waiting for someone. Also she's wearing the same uniform of mine.
"Oh, I thought you already leave." Nagulat kong sabi I didn’t think na they’ll stay here talaga.
"We stayed here last night." Jared said na ikinangiwi ko, I didn't say anything pero parang sinasagot nya ang tanong ko sa sarili ko. Is he out his sane?
"Nope, I just read your expressions." He said again. Damn he's crazy!
"Good morning Aliah!" Someone greeted, he's pababa palang ng hagdan. Jayden sucks.
"Bro, stop whatever you’re doing to her before she kills you." Seryosong pagsasaway ni Jared sa kapatid nya, They are both insane, GOD!
"Jayden, first, can you stop that aliah thingy? I'm so tired to hear that name to you and, and I'm not Aliah. Okay? Whatever she is, I don't care. And Last,”
“You and you. You're both insane!” I pointed the two of them.
And weirdoes!" I added then walk out. I heard Darlene’s laugh.
I was about to finally get out when I saw my Dad with Tito Robert, of course.
"Sweetie?" He said with his sweet voice. Geez, Marliah, Queen don't want to disappoint her dad, so calm down.
"Let's go. “He said and he offered his arms. I hold it and started walking with them.
Bago kami makapunta sa dining table, nag good mornings' muna kami ni Dad at ni Tito, they're seems friends na close na close.
"Dad can I go upstairs na? Baka po malate na po ako sa class ko." I excuse kahit almost 1 hour pa naman before ang first subject namin. Dad and Tito looked each other, parang they communicating using their eyes.
"Wait sweetie. I want to tell you something." Dad seriously said. What is it?
"Robert? Should we tell them now?" He asks Tito. Tito just nod, then Dad look each of us.
"Everyone," Dad cut his speech then sigh. Bat parang may nase-sense akong masama or something dito?
"We decided na..." Tito continue but he stop too. Pa intense ang mga Dad namin, nakakainis. Mukha ring naiinis sila Jayden, obviously nung inis nyang sinabi na ituloy na raw ang kanilang sinasabi.
"We decided na, imerge ang business natin. And to do that, we need to do something na magbi-bind nito na maglalasts.” Dad said. Huh? What do you mean by that?
“I think you guys getting kung ano ang sinasabi namin, kung ano ang napag desisyunan namin.” Napataas ang kilay ko sa sinabing iyon ni Tito Robert.
“Dad straight to the point. Baka nagkakaroon tayo ng misunderstanding dito.” Napatingin ako kay Darleen na katulad ko ay naiirita na sa sinasabi ng mga Dad namin.
“Lakas maka teleserye naman ng ganito Dad.” Natatawang sabi ni Jared. Baka prank? Haha.
Nananahimik naman na kumakain si Jayden tulad ng mga Dad namin while kami ay parang totally lose our appetite. What the hell? Parang casual talk lang para sa kanila.
“This is for the sake of our both businesses—” Jayden cut his dad. “Spill it Dad. Straight to the point di yung pinapaligoy-ligoy nyo pa.” Straight nyang sabi. There’s no emotion on his face. Akala ko pa naman ay alam nya ang sinasabi nila.
“I know you—” This time dad was the one whose talking and I cut him off too.
“Dad. Please sabihin nyo nalang nang direkta kasi I don’t like the idea I had in my head.” Sabi ko sa kanya. I don’t care kung bastos na ang tingin nila sa akin, who cares?
“We decided to arrange an engagement for you and my son Jayden.” Literally my world stops when I heard it. Naglabas ng kani-kanilang comments ang magkakapatid pero parang nabibingi ako at tanging boses lang ni Daddy at ng old man a ito ang naririnig ko.
“Noon pa namin ito napag decide-dan, if your mothers are still alive they—” “Don’t you dare to mention that Dad! H’wag mo nang idamay pa dito si Mom!” Sigaw ni Darlene.
“You must be kidding dad.” I said in low voice and gave him a sarcastic laugh. Nawalan ako bigla ng amor makaharap sila lahat. Nakakapanlumo.
“Tito Eric at Dad, mawalang galang lang pero this is not a good idea. Ang cony nyo magprank.” Natatawang sabi ni Jayden.
“We’re not doing some stupid prank—” “But this is stupid Daddy! Ano bang purpose ko? Ano bang purpose naming anak nyo? This is stupid. Hella stupid.” Sagot ko at pinunasan ko na ang bibig ko. Nawalan na talaga ako ng gana.
“I don’t think this is stupid as you thought but this is planned na dati pa and it is for our sakes—” “I don’t mind! I don’t care Dad! That’s your business and I’m daughter! You cannot do that!” Sigaw ko.
"That's a final decision Marliah, Jayden." Old man said.
"F*ck! No! Malaking No!" I scream.
“Marliah, respect him.” Dad with his warn tone. Fuck who cares?
"Pano kayo nakagawa ng desisyon na kayo lang nakakaalam Dad?" Naiinis kong tanong sa kanila.
"And not because you are our fathers, you must decide our future! Dad naman?" Sigaw ni Jayden.
"Dad this must a joke." Singit ni Darlene na patayo na rin sa lamesa nya.
"I can't dad. Nice joke in a not so good morning." Then I finally walk out.
