Chapter 1: Lucifer

It's been one month since Vox threw a temper tantrum that almost destroyed Heaven and Hell. Everything since then has more or less gone back to normal, with the addition of many new residents at the hotel. Ever since redemption was proven possible and not just a pipe dream, Charlie has been constantly running around in a frenzy, having so many more tasks with the additional sinners to take care of.

"Yes, it's true, redemption is possible and we're working on a step by step guide on how to achieve it! No, we are not at war with Heaven and there are no more exterminations- we're actually working with them to achieve this dream for all sinners! If you have any questions or concerns about Heaven, our very first redeemed sinner is available to talk via video chat!" Charlie told a news reporter covering the hotel. The step by step guide she spoke of was off to a rough start, but she figured beginning with the basics couldn't hurt! Trust falls and therapy sessions were in full swing at the hotel, even if they were attended begrudgingly.

Unfortunately for Charlie, even though redemption was without a doubt proven to be attainable, not everyone wanted it. The overlords who had power in Hell didn't want to give that up to go to Heaven. And the sinners who sold their souls away couldn't go to Heaven even if they wanted to; you can't exactly ascend if you don't have ownership over your soul. Even though Lucifer tried explaining all of these political complications in an effort to be realistic to his daughter, she never let herself be deterred.

"We're so close dad, and there are now so many sinners who are counting on me to fix the entire afterlife system! I have to do this for my people. I know you don't like sinners, but will you help me?"

"Of course I will, you know I will. I'd do anything for you Char-Char! I'm so proud of you, and I'm sure your mom would be too."

However, they were still in Hell- not everything could be all sunshine and rainbows just because one sinner went to Heaven. So, there were some sinners who outright opposed the idea of redemption. No one could totally blame them, Heaven has been committing genocide on Hell for all of time. But that didn't give anyone the right to shit on and vandalize his daughter's hotel! There were new sinners there everyday just to cause trouble, and to Lucifer's utter dismay, he had to rely on a certain deer demon to take care of that task. Alastor was 'the most powerful sinner in Hell' or whatever, so he had no trouble disposing of anyone doing anything more than loitering. Lucifer definitely didn't trust the radio man or appreciate his cannibalistic tendencies, but he didn't really have a choice. His daughter's safety and happiness was the most important thing to him, and against sinners, he couldn't do much.

In contrast to the Hotel, the Vees have more or less disappeared- Valentino was still making porn and Velvet was still an active influencer, but no one had really heard from Vox. Changing the narrative in their favor has always been one of their strengths, but this time Vox's image couldn't be recovered. All of Hell saw him destroy the Pride Ring, so the public population didn't trust him anymore. Although the other two had publicly distanced themselves from him, Lucifer was sure that they were still taking care of his TV head in the privacy of their tower. He wouldn't be surprised if they had already put him back together again, waiting for the right time to establish Vox back into Hell. Even though Vox was the one who used him as a battery and threatened the very fabric of the afterlife, Lucifer didn't really care much about what those stupid sinners were doing. And unfortunately, it's not like he could do anything to them anyway.

The only other noticeable difference is in the way that Lucifer and Alastor interact with each other. It's a barely there change in attitude; only picked up by those who pay close attention, or who know the two very well. When they first met, there was clear animosity and tension between them, fighting over who was a better dad for Charlie.
