Hey there, notebook..

Grant Lecter here. I finally decided to give this diary thing a try. I'm not exactly good with words, and I honestly don't know where to start, so I guess I'll just write about my day.I woke up late again because my alarm clock didn't go off. I should probably replace that thing soon. Thankfully, I still had enough time to make breakfast, an egg sandwich with some bacon. While I was eating, I had the TV on. The news was still talking about the infection, but I didn't pay much attention since I had to leave for work at the canteen.Honestly, why do we still have school when there's practically an apocalypse going on? I have no idea. The president and a bunch of other important people already left to save themselves, so I don't really know what everyone else is expecting anymore.Since it might be the end of the world and all, I figured I should finally talk to some of my colleagues. Most of them decided not to come in and instead spent time with their families. Barely any students showed up either, and the few who did mostly kept checking their phones, so it ended up being a pretty easy shift. After work, I stopped by the grocery store. I was honestly surprised there were still supplies left. Most of the shelves only had canned food, but the owner was kind enough to give me a discount on everything I bought.

On my way home, I accidentally tripped and broke my glasses. Guess I'll have to buy a new pair tomorrow. There wasn't much I could do about it, so I just got back up and kept walking.Eventually, I made it back to my apartment... if you could even call this place a home. Trash was piling up everywhere, but at least I managed to put all the groceries in the fridge. It should be enough to last me about a week, maybe a little longer if I'm careful.
I checked on Mom and Gramps before settling down. Thankfully, they were both doing alright. Dad still hasn't replied to any of my messages since yesterday morning, though. I just hope he's safe over there abroad.
I guess that's really all there is to say about today.
To be honest, I'm still not sure why I even started writing this diary. Maybe it's because things are only going to get worse from here... and if they do, I want there to be some record of what life was like before everything changed.
