Chapter 6

I'm having a headache for real, bro.

Why do the classes have to be back-to-back? 😔

I'm tired.

And then there's my deskmate...

His eyes are glued to the board while I'm sitting here, trying not to fall asleep.

I'm not being petty. Everyone knows history comes with free sleep.

But I was the one who insisted on taking this subject because I genuinely wanted to learn about the history of different countries.

Then why am I feeling so sleepy?

Aah, leave it.

Focus!!

After a few more minutes, the bell finally rang.

The teacher closed the book and walked out of the classroom.

Finally...

Such a relief.

Just then, someone waved a hand in front of my face.

"Wake up, Aira. Wake up," he said with a chuckle.

I shot him a glare.

"I was not sleeping."

"Yeah, you weren't sleeping. You were just doing meditation, right?"

"Yes, of course."

And with that, we both burst out laughing.

"Okay, my friends must be waiting for lunch," he said, catching his breath.

"Byeeeeee, deskmate," I said with a smile.

He smiled back and started walking towards the door.

After taking just two steps, he suddenly turned around.

"Wanna join?"

"No, I don't have much of an appetite. You go."

"C'mon," he insisted.

But I don't think I should go because...

Umm...

Okay, I admit it.

I'm feeling a little weird about talking to so many new people.

"Maybe next time," I said with a small smile.

He smiled back, gave a slight nod, and disappeared into the corridor.I refused to go with him, but what should I do now?

Should I study?

Nah.

I think I should explore the school. I mean, it's quite big. While entering, I saw a medical room and a library. And if I heard those girls correctly, there's a cafeteria too.

And I'm hungry since I didn't have breakfast today.

I stepped out of the classroom and stretched my arms.

Finally.

Freedom.

The corridor was alive with chatter. Some students were rushing towards the cafeteria while others stood in groups, busy gossiping.

Meanwhile...

I was on a mission.

Food.

Or maybe just something sweet.

But wait...

Where's the cafeteria?

But I'm smart, so I don't have to worry.
