Prologue

"If you keep staring at me like that, Mr. Rathore, people will think you're in love with your secretary."

Advika Singh crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow as she looked at the man standing across the massive office.

Rudransh Singh Rathore didn't even blink.

"I was wondering how someone with so much confidence still manages to submit a report with three spelling mistakes."

Advika rolled her eyes dramatically.

"They were typing mistakes."

"They were mistakes."

"They were tiny mistakes."

"You still made them."

She walked to his desk, snatched the file from his hand, and glared at him.

"You know what your problem is?"

"I don't."

"You enjoy irritating me."

A faint smile tugged at the corner of Rudransh's lips.

"And yet, every morning you're the first one standing outside my office."

"Because I'm your secretary."

"So, it's not because you like seeing me?"

She looked away immediately.

"In your dreams."

He leaned slightly closer.

"My dreams are surprisingly accurate."

Advika pointed a finger at him.

"Don't test my patience."

"And what will you do?"

"I'll resign."

"You've threatened to resign twelve times."

"I mean it this time."

"You also meant it the other eleven times."

She sighed dramatically.

"I seriously hate you."

"Hmm."

"Did you hear me?"

"I did."

"And?"

"You'll still be here tomorrow morning at 9 a.m."

She opened her mouth to argue but stopped.

Because he was right.

Again.

Just then, his phone vibrated.

The warmth in his eyes disappeared instantly.

His expression turned cold.

Without another word, he picked up his coat and walked toward the door.

"Cancel all my meetings."

Advika frowned.

"Where are you going?"

Rudransh glanced back for only a second.

"To remind someone why they should never challenge the Rathore name."

The office fell silent.

For a moment, Advika forgot that behind the sharp suits, billion-dollar deals, and endless arguments stood a man whose secrets could shake the entire city.

She had fallen in love with a businessman.

She had no idea she had also fallen in love with the most feared man in the underworld.
