Seraphira
17 years old

A cool breeze caresses my sensitive skin, and the scent of freshly cut grass fills my nose.
Cherry blossom petals fall from the tree behind me.
And here I am, leaning against the tree, trying to figure out what I should do.
What next?
I lift my head toward the sky and marvel at the stars that have begun to appear; they're so beautiful, so soothing, yet so terrifying-any one of them could explode at any moment, followed by another, and another, and so on. But that leaves me cold.
For now, I'm just soaking in the marvelous sight.
As long as I can.

I'm seeing less and less out of my left eye; who knows when my illness will strike my right eye-I don't even know what's wrong with me. Maybe I deserve it.
Maybe I deserve every misfortune that comes my way in this world; I can't feel any other way-no one has ever treated me with kindness, so why would that change in the future?

The voices of a group of teenagers echo in the distance; they've broken the silence.
I glance to the side, at them, but I'm only looking for one girl's gaze.

I glance at the tall, slender girl with long blonde hair and chocolate-brown eyes-Liora.
She seems so happy, but it's just a mask-one I'd love to tear off, to reveal every thought and feeling she hides so deeply within her dark heart.
It will never happen, but as a wise being once said, "It's okay to dream, isn't it?"

I literally don't know what I'm doing, but I really hope it will turn out okay,
I really hope at least one person will read it and won't put down this little story of mine.
