The first thing everyone noticed about Shi-Ruu wasn't that she was the only girl in Class 1-5.
It wasn't even her height.
At 5'10", with short bleached silver hair, warm tanned skin, and soft grey eyes, she stood out immediately. Those eyes had a strange effect on people. They looked so gentle-so painfully kind-that even some of the biggest troublemakers found themselves hesitating for half a second before saying anything cruel.
She looked fragile.
Like a strong gust of wind would knock her over.
...That assumption usually lasted about ten seconds.
---
"So that's Su-ho's twin?"
A student whispered from another desk.
"They don't even look related."
"No kidding."
Su-ho, leaning lazily against the window, looked over.
"They're right."
Shi-Ruu blinked.
"...What?"
"We don't look alike."
She frowned dramatically.
"I am devastated."
"You'll recover."
"I won't."
"You will."
"...You're mean."
"I know."
She sighed loudly before dramatically placing the back of her hand against her forehead.
"I can't believe my own brother bullies me."
The class laughed.
Even Su-ho smiled.
Just barely.
---
Everyone knew one thing.
If someone wanted to start trouble-
They absolutely did not start with Shi-Ruu.
Not because she couldn't defend herself.
Because Su-ho existed.
Anyone who even looked at her the wrong way usually found Su-ho standing beside them before they even realized he'd moved.
One second-year whispered.
"...Let's maybe not."
"I like breathing."
"Same."
---
Shi-Ruu honestly wished people would stop relying on Su-ho's reputation.
She could handle herself.
Very well.
But she wasn't interested in proving it.
---
Instead...
Her attention stayed on one person.
Yeon Si-eun.
He sat alone.
Read alone.
Walked alone.
Ignored everyone.
Most students called him weird.
Shi-Ruu just looked at him quietly.
"..."
"..."
"...He looks lonely."
