He is heartless.

"I told you to call me when you arrived here," the old lady told me when she arrived at my place where I was seating, nakatulala.

Hindi parin mawala sa isip ko 'yung nangyari kanina. The hell! I need to focus! It's my first day at this work for god sake!

"Did you hear me?" muli niyang tanong, napabalikwas ako at bumalik sa sarili.

Tumango na lang ako at humingi ng pasensya. There's no need to argue with her. Kasalanan ko naman, e. Nang dahil sa nangyari, nawaglit sa isip ko na tawagan siya.

"I will tour you with your office," sabi niya habang naunang maglakad. "Follow me."

I nodded. "Yes po."

Dinala niya ko sa isang room na may kalawakan din. Magaganda lahat ng design sa paligid at may mga furniture sa bawat gilid. Hindi nalalayo sa istilo ng opisina ni Aldrin.

"You will stay here for good. Do your best every day if you don't want to lose your job, the same with the other girl earlier," ngumisi siya. "Ayaw mo naman sigurong magaya sa kanya 'di ba?"

I gave her an unsure nod.

"Buti nang nagkakalinawan tayong dalawa," sabi niya at tinignan ako mula ulo hanggang paa na parang sinusuri akong mabuti. "You're pretty."

Nginitian ko siya. "Thank you po."

I don't know how to react on that. I was not used to compliments. It gave us an awkward silence after what she said.

"Ipapadala ko na lang dito ang mga papers na kailangan mong i-review for clients. I will explain to you your other task later."

"Well noted on that," I replied.

I looked at the table on the middle, may nakaimprentang name ko don at ang job role na 'secretary'. I can't help myself but to smile while seeing that, I did it!

This will be a new start for me.

"One last thing, no office romance. I know it will be hard 'cause you will meet a lot of people but that's one of the rules and regulation of this company, better abide the rule or lose the job."

Maglalakad na sana siya palabas ng pinto nang tumunog ang phone niya at mistulang may nag-text dahil nakatingin siya roon.

"Pinapatawag ka ni Sir. Aldrin sa opisina niya."

I remained silent. Parang dinadaga ang dibdib ko ngayon.

"Bakit daw po?"

She didn't answered immediately that adds nervous in my veins.

She shook her head. "No reason included," ayon lang ang sinabi niya matapos ay lumabas na sa room at iniwan akong mag-isa doon.

I found myself sitting on the chair near me before I decide to went to Aldrin's room.

I felt my chest heaving while I silently pushing the door to opened it. I quickly went inside, magsasalita sana ako ngunit natigilan ako nang marinig na may kausap siya sa phone.

I remained silent while standing quietly on the side, near at the door. I don't have intention to heard that.

"Yes, dad. I'm sorry," sabi niya habang mina-massage ang sintido. Namumula ang mukha at leeg, parang namumula sa galit.

"Yeah, I will fixed everything. I need a bit of your trust in me. For once..." He ended the call right after that.

Lalabas na sana ko pero huli na dahil nakita niya na ako.

"Sir—" I said, but my words were cut off midway when he shouted.

"Ano?!" He give me a deathly stare. Napaatras ako ng pwesto dahil sa gulat sa sigaw niya.

"Pinapatawag niyo daw po ak—"

"Kanina ka pa ba nand'yan?" tanong niya at patuloy parin ang matalim na tingin niya sa pwesto ko.

Yumuko ako at umiling.

Kakapasok ko lang naman talaga at kung may narinig man ako ay wala akong pakialam with their personal business. Labas ako doon. That's out of my role!

"Sumagot ka!" Nataranta ako at nararamdaman ko ang tensyon sa pagsasalita niya.

"No, sir. I just went here one minute ago," I replied. I balled my hands. "Kakarating lang po."

"Good," he said while grinning. Bipolar ba siya? "Next time, before entering this room, knocked three times and asks for my queue."

Pilit akong tumango. "I'm sorry..."

"Leave. Get out of my office," he again massage the bridge of his nose.

"Yes, sir..." I immediately make a step back at him, walking out of the door when he called my name.

"Ms. Janine..."

Mabilis kong ipinikit ang mga mata at humugot ng malalim na hininga. God! Why did you create this bipolar creature?

"Good luck..."

Did he say good luck to me? Bakit parang may ibig ipakahulugan 'yung sinabi niya na 'yon?

After saying those words, an evil smile plastered on his face.
