"Maybe this could be the line that starts the whole story!" Logan said, quoting our song from the first album. "Maybe, uh, she could be the one...that's meant for you?"

"Yeah, thanks Logan, you're a big help," I said sarcastically. "She's just so perfect, y'know? I don't know if I could even talk to her without saying something stupid."

"Oh, please," Logan retorted. "You're James freaking Maslow for Pete's sake! You could just smile and wave and she'd go on a date with you."

"R-really?" I asked, stuttering the words a little--something I did when I was nervous.

"Yes," he said. "Now go talk to her! Quick! Before she leaves!" Logan practically shoved me out of the booth and toward the unnamed girl.

"Okay, okay," I groaned. "And Logan?"

"Yeah?"

"Are you trying to flirt with me?"

"Oh, James, sweetie," he started. "If I was trying to flirt with you, you would know."

I rolled my eyes and made my way to the beautiful girl standing in line for coffee.

"H-hey," I muttered. I kept telling myself to not be nervous, but it seemed to make it worse. The girl looked behind her, as if to check whether or not I was talking to her. "Yes, you."

"Oh," she breathed. "H-hi." Maybe she was as shy as I was?

"Well, uh, so. My name's James, and I go here a lot for, well, coffee and stuff. And I've seen you around here a lot and you're kinda perfect and pretty and you seem nice and I'm rambling but it's because I'm nervous and stupid, kinda, but I was wondering if you wanted to go out sometime...?" I was rambling, and I knew it. I tend to do that sometimes. Idiot idiot idiot id-

"I'm Penelope," she said.

"Hi Penelope," I breathed. "I-" She cut me off by kissing me carefully on the lips. The kiss ended as quickly as it started, not that either of us seemed to mind.

"You talk a lot," she mumbled.

"Yeah, I do," I admitted. "I'm sorry.."

"No, no! It's cute!" She promised. "Just like you."

I blushed.

"Oh, and by the way, I'd love to go on a date with you," she said.

"Really?" I asked. She nodded. "Cool."
