Emmit just stood there.

I really wanted to know what he was going to say.

"Emmit, what do you need to tell me?" I asked.

He held my face in his hands and kissed me, hungrily.

"I need you to promise me that you won't leave me." he said.

"What makes you think that I want to leave you?" I asked.

"After what happened downstairs with the full-bloods, I just had this feeling that you might try to get away from us." he said.

"I don't think I can keep myself away from you." I said, "Even after that, I wouldn't even think about leaving you. Emmit, you've changed me, but for the better."

"Hayden, I need to give you something." he said, opening a drawer.

He pulled out a box and took out two rings. They each had a tiny glass ball on the top, that could be opened. It was similar to a locket.

"What's that for?" I asked.

"It's to symbolize that I'm your protector and that I have chosen you to be mine." he said, "But there's something I need."

"Anything." I said.

"Anything? Are you sure about that?" he asked.

"Yeah." I said.

He took my hand and held it up, "It won't hurt."

He used his fangs and punctured my finger. I watched as he sucked some of the blood from it. He took the rings and extracted the blood into the glass balls. He closed them and they started glowing a bright red color.

"Woah..." I said, amazed at the beauty of the rings.

He slipped a ring on his finger and then put the other one on mine.

"There's more..." he said.

"Crap, really?" I said.

"My vamp parents want to meet you. I need you to come with me to their house in Shadow Valley." he said.

"Your vamp parents?" I asked, a little nervous.

"Yes." he said, "But you can't tell Aiden and Tia where you're going. My parents are very secretive."

"Okay." I said, "When do we leave?"

"Tonight." he said.

"So soon?" I asked.

"You're not scared, are you?" he asked.

"No, of course not!" I said.

He put his arms around me and whispered in my ear, "I can sense your fear."

"Okay, you gotta not do that. It's creepy." I said.

"I know you think it's hot." he said, pinning me to the wall.

He pinned my arms to the wall and pressed his lips against mine.

Suddenly, the door opened and Jade and Nayte entered while we were still making out.

"Emmit, Hayden. We need to---ew!" Jade said, walking in and seeing us.

"Uh woah, didn't expect to see that." Nayte said.

I pulled away even though Emmit didn't want to.

"Hey..." I said.

"What's going on?" Emmit asked.

"We need to go now." Jade said.

"Our parents are waiting." Nayte replied.
