Somewhere in a small town's Hospital
The sharp, continuous sound of the heart monitor echoed through the emergency ward.
Beep... Beep... Beep...
Doctors rushed in and out, nurses shouted instructions, stretchers screeched against the floor
the hospital was in chaos.
"BP dropping!"
"Prepare for immediate surgery!"
"Call Dr. Mehra.....NOW!"
The air smelled of antiseptic... and fear.
Inside the operation theatre, a man lay unconscious, his body covered in blood, injuries too severe to count. His face was pale, but even beneath the bruises, there was something powerful about him and something dangerous.
Life and death were fighting over him.
Meanwhile... Doctor Mehra said call Anamika now we need her.
The one intern call her
Com'on Anamika pick up the phone fast...
(The hospital where Anamika was an intern was a small hospital situated in a hilly area)
Anamika's phone ranged and she looked up from her notes, her brows knitting in confusion. It was late evening. She wasn't expecting anyone's call this hour.
She picked up the phone it was one of her intern friend who do internship with her in hospital.
"Hello Dipti what happened" she answered
Dipti was in so much hurry she only tell her few important information that:
"Anamika, its an emergency case! We're short on staff. You're needed immediately."
Her heartbeat quickened.
Anamika:"Right now?"
Dipti:"Yes, It's critical."
She didn't hesitate.
Anamika:"Give me 15 minutes. I'll be there."
She turned back inside, quickly grabbing her bag and tying her hair into a neat ponytail. Her hands moved fast but her mind was already preparing.
Surgery,Critical case,No room for mistakes. Anamika is so loyal when it comes to her work.
As she stepped out, she almost collided with Shivani Sinha, her bhabhi, who was coming down the hallway.
Shivani raised an eyebrow, noticing her rush.
She asked Anamika ,"Where are you going in such a hurry?"
"Hospital emergency," Anamika replied, slipping into her sandals. "They're short on staff."
Shivani leaned against the wall, crossing her arms, her expression unreadable.
"At this hour?"
Anamika paused for a second.
"I don't really have a choice, bhabhi. It's serious."
A tight smile touched Shivani's lips almost .
"Hmm... hospitals and their endless emergencies."
Anamika ignored the tone.
"I'll be back as soon as I can."
As she moved past her, Shivani's voice stopped her again.
"Anamika."
She turned.
"Be careful," Shivani said softly but there was something strange in her eyes. Something calculating, something not right.
Anamika nodded slightly.
"I always am."
And give a little smile to Shivani and leave the house but inner side Shivani doesn't feel alright she has been always worried about Anamika since Yash's and Anamika's parents passed away. Shivani had always been take care of Anamika like her own younger sister. And Anamika consider Shivani as her mentor her elder sister and her second mother. The bond between them is so beautiful not like typical bhabhi and nanad relationship.
At Police Station Same Time
The atmosphere here was no less intense.
Inspector Yash Sinha slammed his fist on the table.
"HOW is there still no update?!"
The officers around him fell silent.
A constable stepped forward nervously.
"Sir... we searched the entire area near the valley. The car was found completely wrecked but"
"But WHAT?" Yash snapped.
"No body, sir."
The room went still.
Yash's jaw clenched.
No body.
That meant only one thing.
"He's alive..." he muttered under his breath, eyes darkening.
One of his team members hesitated.
"Sir, with those injuries... survival is almost impossible."
Yash let out a cold, humorless chuckle.
"You don't know him."
His gaze turned sharp, dangerous.
"Yug Purohit doesn't die that easily."
Silence.
Tension thickened in the room.
"Find him," Yash ordered, his voice low but lethal.
"Dead... or alive. I want him."
Back to Hospital in Operation Theatre
"Scalpel."
"Blood pressure stabilizing... slightly."
"Hold him steady!"
Anamika stood beside the senior surgeon, her hands steady despite the intensity of the situation. Sweat trickled down her temple, but her focus never wavered.
Her eyes moved over the patient's condition.
Multiple fractures.
Severe internal bleeding.
Head injury.
This wasn't just an accident.
This was... brutal.
"Doctor," she said carefully, "there's excessive internal damage"
"I know," the senior doctor replied sharply. "Focus."
Hours passed.
Time blurred.
Every second felt like a battle.
After some hours
Finally "We're done."
A breath of relief spread through the room, but it was far from over.
After Post Surgery
The patient was shifted to ICU.
Machines surrounded him.
His body lay still.
Too still.
Anamika stood outside the glass window, staring at him.
"Condition?" she asked quietly.
The senior doctor sighed.
"Critical. He's alive... but barely."
Her fingers tightened around the file she was holding.
"Will he make it?"
A pause.
Then senior doctor said
"We don't know."
The words lingered in the air.
Uncertain. Heavy.
Dangerous.
Anamika's gaze shifted back to the unconscious man.
For a moment...
something felt strange.
Unexplainable.
Like this wasn't just another patient.
Like this man...
was going to change everything.
And far away...
someone was already searching for him.
Not to save him.
But to finish what had started.
