I raced to Liam's house after receiving a text from Liam about a chimera, I stood beside Liam as Scott knocked the door "Hayden its Scott I know that your scared but we just wanna help" Scott waited a while but there was no reply "I can hear her heart beating she's freaking out what happens"
"She was ok when I got here and when I left her for two seconds she locked herself in" Liam answered
"Let me try" I stepped forward "Hayden hi it's Aleria you know I play in the same soccer team as you can you please open the door you can trust us please" I pleaded
"We just need to tell you the truth Hayden" Scott whispered "and that kind of thing is usually better face to face listen either you unlock the door or I'm gonna have to break it open its okay if you don't want to talk or if you won't believe us but I just I gotta know if your okay in there" Scott turned to us after not hearing the door unlock he took a step back but the door slowly opened revealing a glowing eyes Hayden
"I believe you"
Scott let out a sigh of relief "I think you're next" Scott spoke "were taking you to the school, you'll be safe there"
Liam, Hayden and I walked through the school doors with one mission and one mission only and that was to protect Hayden, we walked into the boys locker room and set up
"What's the plan again?" I asked sitting infront of Liam on the ground
"I think it's just to hide here the night and hope we don't die" Liam laughed
"Hey guys can you guys move that in front of the door please" Scott asked Liam and I
"Done" I dusted off my hands to see Scott looking at me concerned, I thought nothing of it and kept going
"Is it me or is Liam and Aleriah not aware of the second plan?" I heard Lydia whisper
"I'm still not sure if there's gonna be a second part"
"Or if it's going to work" Lydia whispered again
Liam stepped to the side and smiled at eachother "listen if anyone of us die tonight or this year I just want to tell you I love you ok?" He whispered in my ear
"Ok?" I nodded pulling him into a long embrace "I love you too"
"Come here" he pulled me into his lap so I could lie down and have a sleep
"Where's Hayden?" I asked sitting up
"She's here don't worry" he stroked my hair
"W-what are you doing?" I asked as Liam picked my head of his lap
"Stay here" he instructed, I sat up and watched him hover over Scott's duffle bag, I watched him open it and oil out a like if chain, I stood up and looked over his shoulder "what were you gonna do with these" Liam turned around
"I brought them just in case" Scott said
"I case of what" Liam asked getting angrier
"In case we had a chance to catch one of them" Lydia turned around
"If we can't make the school a fortress mabey we could make it a trap" Scott stepped forward
"They're coming for her does that mean Hayden's the bait" I asked, Scott turned around and looked at Hayden not knowing what to say he just slowly nodded
Lydia whispered to me "but we brought her here to protect her"
"Am I" Hayden asked
"No ones bait" Scott informed us "we can't be bodyguards to everyone every night"
"Then why aren't we talking to my dad?" I asked
"Because we still don't know anything about them or what they want" Scott said "they're winning and we don't even know what the game is" Scott told me
"What if come in here and those things don't work" Liam snapped causing me to jump "what if you have an asthma attack then what are we gonna do?
"I don't know" Scott looked dumbstruck
"This plan sucks!" Liam yelled even louder
"Do you have a better one? Kids are dying and she's next" Scott yelled "so somebody has to do something somebody has to save someone, so somebody's gonna have to be the bait!" Scott yelled, there was a split moment of silence
"Aleriah come here" Liam instructed "Scott make sure no one gets hurt"
"You need to save her, promise us" I whispered to Scott
"I'll do everything I can" I pulled Scott into a hug
"Thank you"
"Guys I think I might need a little help right now I forgot my pills I have a bottle on my locker I can get them"
"I'll get them" Scott walked past us "what's your combination?"
"46578" Scott nodded and walked out the door
"Hey Liam is Lydia okay?" I asked
"Yeah she's probably waiting for Scott"
"Liam she's gone" I started to panic
"Go get Hayden and hide" I nodded "Now!" He yelled
"Hayden they're coming get behind me" Liam ran around the corner and changed to standing infront of me, time seemed to slow down as three giants walked through the door the one with the kane walked up to the frequency disturber and knocked it off the shelf it was perched on, then he said something I couldn't understand and smashed the disturber
Then everything went black
I saw flashes and sequences of something I don't know what it was
But I know I couldn't open my eyes to see what it was, I just layed there not being able to feel my body, muffled screams made their way through my ears,
I finally had the energy to open my eyes , I turned my head one way to see Liam's arm in a trap thing I reached out my free arm and held his giving him a reassuring smile, I didn't have to look to see what was happening to Hayden so I stayed looking at Liam's face.
"Don't hurt her"
