Mirajane's Christmas

"Happy don't steal all the wrapping paper!" Lucy shouted while chasing after a flying blue cat.
"Well you can't hog it all for yourself Lucy!" Happy replied and keeps flying around.
It's Christmas Eve and the Fairy Tail wizards are busy wrapping up presents for their friends and families.
"I'm going to give Lyon a snow globe." Gray exclaimed with a big goofy grin.
"Do you think Gray-sama will like gloves?" Juvia asked Levy in a low voice. Levy just chuckled and nodded.
Everyone is nervous and excited. Oops scratch that not everyone. Lucy sighed miserably and flopped down in front of the counter. "Mirajane how can you-" She stopped when she realize Mirajane isn't there. She looked around.
"You looking for my sister Lucy?" Elfman asked walking over to her.
Lucy nodded at Elfman. "Yeah where is she?"
Elfman let out a sigh . "She have a cold. Right now-"
"Mirajane have a cold?!" Laxus asked surprised. Elfman turned to Laxus, a bit annoyed  that he interrupted him. "Yes, Lisanna is with her right now."
"That's horrible! Is she okay?" Lucy asked. Elfman nodded and was about to say something else but right at that moment Evergreen walked in so he left Lucy and Laxus to greet her.
Laxus just remained silent and takes a sip of his beer. "Mira? Sick?" He repeated those words in his head as he looks around the guild. His thoughts were interrupted by Natsu's yelling, "Snowball fight everyone!"
"YAY!!" Everyone cheered and runs out of the guild and into the cold. Laxus just cast a glance at the exit and gets up and walks toward Mirajane's room. He rubs the back of his neck, "Why am I feeling like this." He keeps thinking that question. "I don't like her like that." He just shakes his head and groans. He reached Mirajane's room and was about to knock but he heard a loud noise,like glass shattering. His eyes widened and quickly opens the door. "What happened?!" He demanded.
"L-La-Laxus wh-at are you doing here?" Lisanna asked surprised and a little shocked.
"I heard something shattered so I came to check." His eyes landed on broken pieces of glass on the floor. "What happened?" He asked as his gaze flicker between Lisanna and the glass.
"Mira wanted water but she was shaking so hard that she knocked the glass over." Lisanna explained and carefully picked up the broken pieces. Laxus walks over to Lisanna. "Let me clean it up you go out and play."
"What about Mira? Someone needs to take care of her." She replied as she cast a worried glance at her sister.
"N-no I-I'll be f-fine Lisanna." Mira said weakly. "You too Lax-" Mira was interrupted by her coughing. 
Laxus nodded at Lisanna. "Go play I'll stay with her."  Lisanna looks at her sister then at Laxus and left them.
Mirajane sighed when the door closed behind Lisanna. "I'll be fine go play with others." She said turning Laxus. Her nose and eyes are really red.
Laxus just raise an eyebrow at her. "You look like crap." He snorted and picked up the glass pieces. She shivers. "It's so cold." She mumbles. "Can I have another blanket?"
Laxus throws away the pieces and looks at her. "There's already five blankets on you." He exclaimed. "And your still cold?"  Mirajane just nodded and sneezed. Laxus looked at her worried. He took off his huge coat and set it on her chair. He gently touch her cheek. "Do you want any water?"
Mirajane flinched a little at his touch. Laxus never been this caring before. She shook her head again. "I'm cold." She repeated. Laxus lets out a shaky breath before taking off his shirt. "Let me warm you up."
"La-xus!" Mirajane turns really red and is trying to say "no" but the sight of him stole her breath away. Laxus ignores her protests and climbs into her bed and hold her against him so his body warmth can warm her. He can't help but realize how perfect their body fits together. Mirajane puts her hands on Laxus's chest to keep a safe distance between them. "Laxus no -" She started. "What if someone comes? It will be so embarrassing." Laxus remained silent and continued to hold her against him.
Mirajane lets out another cough. "Laxus ..." She looks up at his face and gives up. She know how stubborn he can be and she really doesn't mind him holding her. So instead of protesting she decided to ask him something. "Hey Laxus?"
"Yeah?"
"Why are doing this?" She said softly and left her head rest on his chest.
"You're my comrade and your sick so I think it's my job to look after you." He replied but that's only half of the reason why. His hand went to her silky white hair. Mirajane just remained  quiet but for some reason tears are forming and they threatened to spill out. Laxus looked down and gently tilted her face up so he is staring directly into her eyes. "Tears? Really Mira?" He huffed. Mirajane takes in a shaky breath. "So if Lucy has a cold will you do this to her?"
"That's different." He said quickly. His cheeks turns a slight pink.
Mirajane fights back a smile. "How? She's your comrade." She stared back at him and touched his pink cheeks. "Are you hot?" She mumbles and tears and slowly streaming down her cheeks. "You never show this much emotion before but why now? Why are you here?" She continued to let her tears fall. "It's not like you have any fee-" Laxus pressed his lips against hers to stop her long speech. His hands moved down her fragile body and kiss her softly,afraid he might break her somehow. "I love you Mira." Laxus growls softly. "So give up on your silly thoughts." Mirajane closed  her eyes and kissed  him back. Her heart beat sped up. Her hands wrapped around his torso. After a few minutes of this Mira pulled away slowly, her tears can't hide the happiness in her eyes. "I love you too Laxus." She said softly. "It took you long enough."
Laxus kissed  her forehead. "Silly girl." He wiped the tears from her face. "Quit crying."
Mirajane just smiled and her eyelids are getting heavy. "I'm tired Laxus."
"Well then sleep no one is stopping you." He said pulling her closer. Mirajane fell asleep,no longer cold because there's a lightening dragon warming her.

The next day is Christmas and the guild members are exchanging gifts and drinking. Mirajane woke and her heart fell when she realized Laxus  isn't there. She got dressed and walk down to the guild.
"Hey look it's Mirajane!" Cana shouted a little drunk.
Lisanna walks over to her sister. "Why aren't you in bed?"
"I'm all fine now Lisanna." She said smiling at her sister. It's the truth for some reason she felt a whole lot better when she woke up. She walks behind the counter and starts to clean some mugs. Every once in awhile she would look up and cast glance at Laxus who is drinking in a corner with Freed. After a few hours and people starts to go home Laxus walked  over to Mirajane. "How you feeling?"
She looked at him and smiled "A whole lot better." She looked at the ground.
"What now?" Laxus grumbled.
"I have a present for you." She said turning red.
"Oh? What is it?" Laxus said nonchalantly. She around the counter and to his side. Laxus stood up and looked  down at her. "Well?" 
"Close your eyes." She chuckles. "Please."
He lets out a sigh. "Fine."
Mirajane stood on her tip toes and planted a kiss on his cheek. "Merry Christmas."
Laxus opens his eyes,startled. "Wh-"  He started but at that moment Lucy came over and dragged Mirajane away.
