"Why dont i have a daddy?"

Time with Steven went by too quickly. He is now 10 years old and he asked me the imfamous question.
"Mommy, where's daddy?"
Steven asked me.
I sighed.
"Your daddy's dead sweetie, he died while I was still carrying you inside of me." I said to him tearing up.
"Oh mommy don't cry ." He hugs me.
I hug him back.
"come on Steven let's go see your uncles." I said holding his hand.
"Okay mommy." Steven said.
I thought to myself, "at least he has Davey, Jack and Race as fatherly figures... I just wish spot was alive. "

Then I had a flash back of the concert right before Spot died.
We were singing All I Ask of You in front of all the Newsies.
I remember that day like It was yesterday we made It so romantic that all the newsies aawed .
I fell asleep that night.
And I dreamt of spot visiting me in my dream and I saw him and I felt him.
"Hey darling." Spot said
"Oh spot how is this possible?" I asked caressing him.
"Your thinkin bout me and I'm here that's why." Spot said 
"Oh Spot!" We embraced each other romantically.
"I miss you so much I wish Steven has you as a father I wanted so much for our boy to have a father." I said .
" I know my love, but the damn Delancey brothers had to f**k around. " Spot said.
"Oh Spot ..." I said looking down.
"Don't be down in the dumps my dear, I'm always with youse, always. And what i tried to say before i died my pain wouldn't let me finish my sentence: "love never dies" spot said.
" my love for you will never die!" I cried kissing him one last time.
Then Davey had to wake me up, god damn It ...
"Hey hey Dani wake up!" Davey said frantically.
"What is It?" I said groggily sitting up.
"I can't find Steven one minute we're watching him then puff he's gone." Davey said.
"Weren't u watching him!!!" I yelled.
"If he gets hurt Davey so help me god! He's all I have left of Spot don't you understand that!" I yelled.
"Come come i know that hush it's alright." He goes to hug me.
"Get off me! Help me find my son!" I quickly got dressed and ran out the door with Davey .
