It lasted for so long
On and off
I didn't go to school
and mum lost her job
He called in sick for me
And for mum, I don't know
But eventually someone noticed
And a knock was heard at our door
I remember the relief filling my insides
Cause the nightmare could finally be over
however
no one tells
a nine year old
that you get troubles
after something like this
so my little flicker of hope
was indeed only a flicker
cause nightmares came
after a week's passing
Keeping me awake ever since
