angst ; post season 2 ending
If only the field was truly never-ending.

Martha chased ater her lover in the middle of a breezy field of daisies, her face showing a genuine expression of happiness. Her steps started to slow down as her lungs ran out of air for her body to function.

"Steve?" As she mentioned his name, the Australian stopped and looked back with a soft smile.

"Yes, Martha?"

"Nothing," she mused as she locked the other's fingers with hers, "I just wanted to be sure of you."

They continued to run across the never-ending field where the sun shines brighter than in any other place. Martha knew all along that this was too good to be true, but alas she ended up crying again when she woke up and remembered that Steve was no longer here.
