Stella
It was 7:30 a.m. as I got up from bed, I sighed. Today was my first day and third year of high school. My body felt numb like I haven't slept in ages, but it was only because I was tired of the same ruetine and feeling emotionally drained.
My two years of high school felt wasted. Not only have I separated from an old friend, and old friendship that ended toxic. Visions kept playing in my mind, and I shook it off. I look at my reflection in the bathroom mirror, and I felt like I hardly recognized myself.
I had black circles under my eyes, and my dark hair was a mess. I washed my face, combed my hair and brushed my teeth, and went over to my closet to pick out something out to wear. I went with a white blouse, my light blue jeans, slid on my white addidas shoes, and wore a pink cardigan. I loved that it had pockets.
I let my straight black hair fall down my back, and when I was done, my cat, Lily, brushed by my foot, meowing signaling that it was time for her fed. I gave her kebles and some water and a few pets.
I grabbed my white bag that had a BT21 Keychain of Tata. My love for K-pop music and for BTS was unnoticed. That was only my secret. Their music helps me clear my mind whenever I'm down. How did I become to love kpop? " Well, I just came across it one day and fell in love with their beat and style of music.
"Stella!" I heard my mom yell from downstairs. She looked worried and had food out on the table for me. "You're gonna be late, sweetie." She tells me. I look at the time I take a few bites of the pancakes and sausage she made for me. She grabs the keys, starts the car, and I get in the passenger seat.
I look out the window, and my mom pats my hand. She was probably worried that I might freak out on the first day of school. To be honest, I was terrified.
That meant seeing my ex bestfriend again, and memories that I wanted to forget played in my head. I had a lot of anxiety built since we arrived in front of the school. I opened the car door and carefully let myself out as I said goodbye to my mother. I'll see you at home, "she says before she pulls out of the driveway. I stare out at the school, and I freeze. In bold letters, it said Evergreen High. But Evergreen High was nothing but green and happy. It was dark and eery.
My hands shook as I took a step as I stepped inside the building. I took in my surroundings and took tiny steps to my locker. None of the kids were in the hallways at the time since they were already inside their classroom, so I went to the principals office.
I got a tardy pass for coming in late, but I went out with a warning. The principal handed me my school schedule, I excused myself out, and as I was walking out, I bumped into someone.
"Watch it, when I looked up it was a boy, he had a black hoodie, I didn't get to see who it was since he had his hoodie pulled all the way up over his head. "Sorry, I apologized, and went on my way.
I went to my first class of the day. I apologized for being late, and the teacher pointed out for me to take a seat.
I took an empty seat next to a red-headed girl who wore a red leather jacket. She had her feet on the seat but dropped it as soon as she saw me. She gave the bad girl I don't care attitude, so I was scared to sit down at first but then she introduced herself, "I'm Janelle Margaret Pierce, but I go by Jane, what's yours", she asks.
I'm Stella Mae Roslyn, I replied nervously.
That's really pretty, she says, and I smile awkwardly. My day was going good so far, but not for coming late on the first day of school, which was bad on my part.
The teacher started off by introducing himself, but got interrupted by the black hoodied kid, I met at the principals office, and he was also late. He apologized to the teacher and took the seat nearest to the back of the class.
