"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord- plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11

"Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails."
Proverbs 19:21

Penny never went looking for him.

She was sixteen the first time she saw Jamie - standing in a corridor like he owned the air around him, tall and bright and completely unaware of the quiet girl watching from the edges. She told herself it meant nothing. She told herself that a girl still learning the sound of her own name had no business being drawn to someone like that.

But the feeling didn't leave.

Years later, through a mutual friend, Penny finally enters Jamie's world. And what she finds up close is not what the crowd sees. Beneath the charm and the charisma is a man carrying something heavy - a grief so deep it has fractured him in places he will never show anyone. Penny loves him anyway. Faithfully, quietly, completely. But love, she slowly discovers, cannot fill a broken vessel.

No matter how much she pours, it passes through him. And the more she gives, the more she begins to sense something she cannot explain -that her love for Jamie was never entirely her own. That something, or Someone, placed it in her long before she understood why.

The night she begs God to take it away is the night everything changes.

Because God doesn't remove the love.

He explains it.

Some loves are not accidents. Some are assignments
