"It's simple, pirate. You'll be set free on this island and we hunt you down. If we catch you, you may get hurt. The boys will try to stop you with everything they got," Pan said. Melody scowled as he untied her ropes.

"And what if I refuse to play?" She challenged. Peter Pan chuckled.

"Oh love, a punishment from me will occur. And let me tell you, I don't go easy," he snarked and threw the rope over his shoulder. He pushed past Melody and gathered the rest of the lost boys.

As the boys lined up before Melody, Peter tossed her a sword. The pirate caught it with ease but frowned at him. He scoffed.

"To protect yourself. You forget how dangerous Neverland is," he said. Melody snorted.

The only true danger on this island was him, she thought to herself. Everything else was just child's play. The island was nothing but a distraction. The game before the true villain. Nobody could get away from this island, not while Pan was connected to it.

Pan and Neverland were one and the same.

Melody threw the sword to her feet. Pan looked at her with raised eyebrows but she only scowled.

"I don't need protection. I, on my own, can handle your stupid island."

And she took off into the Dark Jungle, with nothing but her instincts to keep her alive.

Melody was good at tracking.

It was something her father taught her when she was little. A pirate had to know how to survive on their own to make it in the cruel world, especially as a lady. Being an expert on tracking also meant she could hide like no other.

Although Peter was one with the island, she had some tricks up her own sleeves. Besides, Pan wasn't looking for her. It was his little idiots.

She hid among the leaves of a huge jungle tree. Using the vines she found hanging around, Melody made a trap on the ground and waited for her bait. Her prey would come soon.

She cupped her hands together and let out a low, melodious whistle. For ten-seconds, she kept her whistle until she saw a chicken climbing out of the bushes. She smirked.

She jumped down and caught the chicken with her bare hands. As quickly as she could, Melody tied a little piece of vine to the animal's leg and left him on top of her rope trap. She distracted the bird with some grass and hid her trap with some leaves and grass.

Once her trap was set, she hoisted herself back onto the tree.

And she waited again.

Melody didn't have to wait for long when she heard the low voices of the lost boys. She could see them coming through the jungle. She held her breath as they got closer.

"I swear I saw her come this way," Cody said as he pushed a tree branch out of his way. Slightly rolled his eyes.

"You're full of it!"

"Dude, I have to pee."

"There's a bush over there, knock yourself out," Cody told his brother as Zack waddled out towards a bush. Melody scrunched her face and looked away.

"Oi look, a chicken!"

All the lost boys peered over Zack's shoulder as he finished watering the plants. Their eyes settled on a lone chicken, eating the grass before him. Zack suddenly drooled.

"Let's kill him for dinner!"

Slightly smacked his head.

"You idiot, we are supposed to be looking for Melody," Cody scolded. Zack winced in pain and his twin shoved him away.

"But if we bring back Melody and a chicken, Pan will appreciate it. I say we catch our dinner!" Zack exclaimed and pointed his spear towards the animal. Slightly rolled his eyes.

"Fine, but hurry up. I wanna find the pirate before Felix and his team," he muttered.

Melody watched carefully as the three idiot lost boy's crept into her trap. As soon as Zack leaped for the chicken, her trap set off. All three lost boys were suddenly whisked up in a net and they dangled from a tree. Cody let out a screech as the chicken scratched his face.

"What the fuck just happened?!" Slightly screamed.

But all the three boys could hear was a soft giggle coming from the trees.

And Melody then disappeared to hunt down her next prey.

~

Melody sat in a tree, enjoying what seemed like a rare moment of peace.

After absolutely destroying Felix and his team, Melody knew it wouldn't be long before Pan found her again. She messed with his game.

But for the moment, Melody munched on a sweet peach she had found on her way through the island. She was so desperate for food, she gathered as much fruit as she could find before finding another tree and devouring all the fruit.

Melody looked out to the horizon of the ocean. She could see the sun beginning to set and she sighed. Pan's game would soon end.

"Enjoying your time alone, love?"

Melody gasped and nearly fall out of the tree. She locked her legs around the branch to steady herself as she looked down at her almost death.

She glanced to her side to see Pan staring at her. He walked on the branch with ease, as if they weren't 40 feet up in the air with a chance of falling.

"About time you found me. I was beginning to think you had forgotten about me, Pan," she snarked.

"Peter. You can call me Peter."

Melody scoffed and crossed her arms.

"You're a monster who doesn't deserve a last name, let alone a first," she spit out with a mouth full of peach. His lips twitched before he let out a loud breath.

"How about a deal..."

"I don't make deals with the devil."

"Lucky for you, I am far from the devil, I guarantee you," he mused, "If you agree to call me Peter, we'll stop this game. No tricks."

Melody let out a mocking laugh and crossed her arms.

"There's no point. Your lost boys are all dangling in my traps. I don't need to agree to your idiotic deal because I have already won," she said in a bitter tone. Peter hummed.

"Then let me sweeten the deal. A tent in exchange for you to call me by my first name."

Melody glanced at him. Her aching back told her to chose the obvious choice but she couldn't bring herself to believe there were absolutely no tricks to this deal.

"So if I agree to call you Peter from now on, I get to stay in a tent instead of a cage..."

"Exactly," he replied. Melody frowned with suspicion. Something wasn't adding up. As much as she wanted to continue questioning him, her grumbling stomach told her she was still hungry.

She stuck her sticky hand out and Peter grasped it tightly.

"You have yourself a deal, Peter."
