Alex Go sat next to Ben Park. The surgery had been successful and Ben was currently unconscious. He would wake up once the anesthesia wore off. The surgery had taken hours due to the nails having pierced a major vein or artery. Ben also needed to get a tetanus shot since those nails were pretty dirty and rusty.
Alex stared down at his hands. The nurses had convinced him to wash them and even offered him some clean clothes to change into. However, Alex couldn't forget how bloody Ben's sleeve had been and how the blood had gotten all over his hands.
Ben's mom was away on a business trip so she wouldn't be able to visit until tomorrow morning. Alex was given permission to stay by Ben's side overnight, even after visiting hours were over. He knew that when Ben woke up, he'd immediately ask about him.
'This is all Sean Shin's fault!' Alex angrily clenched a fist. 'I told them that the Gilshin kid seemed suspicious but he wouldn't listen! Then he went and abandoned me the moment the other Gilshin guys showed up!' Why was he even surprised? It's not like it was the first time Sean abandoned his friends. Sean always chose to save his own skin and will sacrifice anyone necessary to do so.
He remembered Ben telling him that he shouldn't hang around Sean and his gang. Alex teared up but refused to let the tears fall. 'I should've listened to Ben...' "I'm sorry, Ben..." Alex finally allowed the tears to fall. "I'm so sorry..."
