In a land beyond the farthest trees

There lived a lady so fair

She often wore socks up to her knees

And braided silver in her hair

She gracefully walked through the cosmos

And watched them wave to her

And she gently perfumed the roses

To make them smell of myrrh

In beauty and grace there was none in the land

Who could match her in this case

The lord of the land asked for her hand

And in return she spat in his face

I am as free as the bluebirds that call

Or any animal that has tread

And the day that I marry any man at all

Is the day I will be dead

In a land beyond the farthest trees

There lived a lady so fair

She often wore socks up to her knees

And braided silver in her hair

A dark hole is what I see

Whatever could inside it be?

A fearsome monster the pit it haunts

An evil creature. Flesh it wants

A dead man lurking, hungry for souls

Of trespassers, he takes his tolls

A dark lake, many meet their end

Emitting a stench that does offend

A murderer waiting to take my life

A troll starting his reign of strife

A demon anticipating his release

On my fearful heart he will feast

A vengeful god will strike me down

A tentacled monster to make me drown

A rejected fiend who lost his sight

An evil dragon looking for a fight

A spectre who is very malicious

He thinks human meat is delicious

A place where I will die alone and cold

A place where I will never grow old

Some evil men to make me their slave

Then again it could just be a cave
