It Started With A Lie

Chapter 5

"Sorry mom, but I am sick of killing," Aria says, putting the knife in her mother's hands and taking off the gloves that she put on so she didn't have evidence that she did it and it wasn't a suicide. Aria dials 911 and acted all scared, "Hi, my mother is on the floor dead. I think she killed herself." Then she told them her address and they said they'd be there as soon as possible. When they got there, they kept knocking on the front door so she would know that they are here. Aria opened the door as soon as she got there and they came running in, seeing her mother on the floor. "Did you touch her at all once you found her?" a police said while the rest of the people took photos. "No, but what will happen with me?" Aria says. "We will put you in adoption center so someone will adopt you, but we need to get you out of here so you don't have to keep seeing your mother like this," the man said as he escorts Aria from the house and puts her in the back seat of the police car.

He drives her to the police station and calls the adoption center to come on over so they could take her and find her a family. When the adoption center arrives, they talk to the police about taking Aria to the adoption center to find her a nice loving family. "Okay. Aria this is Scarlet, the adoption worker and she is going to take you to the adoption center to find a family and fill out some information of yours," the police officer says. "Okay. Thanks that's fine. Before I go, I have a question," Aria says. "Yes?" the police officer asks. "When can I go into my house to get my things?" Aria asks. "In two days, you can so we have everything cleaned and your mother out," the police officer answered. "Okay. I'm ready to go now," Aria says. Then Aria and Scarlet head to the adoption center car.

-In the car-

"Aria there is a family of 5. They have 2 daughters and a son. Would you want a nice big family because they are looking to adopt a daughter and I think you'd love it," Scarlet says. "Yes that would be fine. I always wanted a nice big family," Aria replies. "Well, good because if I talk to my husband, you can be apart of our family," Scarlet says. "You would really want me to be in your family?" Aria asks in a shocked way. "Yes, don't be shocked. My 15 year old daughter is Amber, my 16 year old daughter is Angie and my 5 year old son is Tyler. Angie has always wanted another sister," Scarlet says. "Wow. That would be amazing," Aria says, wiping her tears of joy and sadness away. "When we get to the adoption center, we just need you to fill out some information about you and I will call and talk to my husband," Scarlet says. "Okay, thanks again for offering to take me in," Aria says. "No problem. Your a good girl, you just need a family to love you," Scarlet says.

-In the adoption center-

"So I will take you to my office and give the information form. Then I will go and make a call," Scarlet says. Aria nods and they go to Scarlet's office; Scarlet gets out an information sheet from her drawer and hands Aria a pen. Lastly, Scarlet leaves her office and makes a call to her husband. "Hi Felipe. There is a girl that's 15 and her name is Aria. Her mother just killed herself and I think she'd want a family that would love her," Scarlet said to her husband on the phone. "Well, what is she like?" Felipe asks. "She has blue eyes, dark hair but half way has a light brown color towards the bottom," Scarlet says. "She sounds great. Well is she filling out the information form?" Felipe says. "Yes and are you almost off of work?" Scarlet asks. "I have 15 minutes then I will be there when I can," Felipe says. "Okay. Well I have to go to see if she's almost done filling out the paperwork," Scarlet says. "Okay. Love you see you soon," Felipe says. "Kisses. Bye," Scarlet replies. Then they end the call and Scarlet heads to her office.

"I'm almost done with my paperwork," Aria tells Scarlet. "Okay. My husband is almost off of work in 15 minutes then he'll be here in 5 minutes," Scarlet says. "Can you tell me things about him?" Aria asks. "His name is Felipe and he works as a dentist. He has your color hair, the light brown part. He loves to take the kids to amusement parks and events when he can. He has blue eyes like yours," Scarlet says. "He sounds great!" Aria says, happily. "Mind if I go through the paperwork?" Scarlet asks. "No, I don't mind. Go ahead," Aria answers. "Um, I didn't write in the 'anything else that we would like to know' part because I don't like to write this. But my mom killed my father when I was younger and she said if I told anyone she would, well I don't want to say what would have happened," Aria says, tearing up. "Oh my. I'm sorry, I can't believe it," Scarlet says, getting up to give Aria a hug. Aria whimpering loudly and Scarlet hugging her.

Scarlet seeing Felipe walking in as she's hugging Aria as she finally stopped crying. "Aria, this is Felipe," Scarlet says as Aria moves away from the hug. "Hi, you must be Aria," Felipe says. "Yea. I am," Aria replies. "Nice to meet you," Felipe says. "Aria, could you sit in the hall for a moment?" Scarlet says. "Yes. And it was nice meeting you as well, Felipe," Aria says as she walks and sits on the couch in the living room. "So can you tell me some stuff about Aria?" Felipe asks. "Yea. She is 15, she loves to play soccer, she wants to go to London one day," Scarlet lists. "Wow, she sounds great. Anything bad that happened to her?" Felipe says. "Yes. Before you came she told me that her mother killed her father when she was young and threatened her to not tell," Scarlet says sadly. "Wow. That, that must have been ruff for her," Felipe says, stuttering. "Yea. She didn't want to write it down, but she told me and it was hard for her," Scarlet says.
