POV: Tris

I decide to explore the Dauntless compound since Tobias has a control room shift again.

I roam through the hallways of the pit.

I turn the corner, and within seconds I feel cold, icy, hands clasp my shoulders.

"Get.Off.Me," I snap.

I flip my head around and find a face full of peircings.

Eric.

He grasps hold of my shirt, slamming
me against the wall.

"What's up stiff?" He taunts.

"You'll regret this!" I bark.

He chuckles. "Like you could do anything to me."

And then I do the only other thing possible.

"FOUR!!!!" I yell at the top of my lungs.

Eric slaps me. Hard.

"Don't think I don't already know his real name, Beatrice," he snickers.

My cheek pulses and I know it'll leave a big bruise.

He leans in closer, his breath a inch away from mine.

I struggle, attempting to break free from his grip.

He twist my wrist back and I yelp. He then slams me to the ground.

My hole body feels like it will break into a million pieces.

And then I can't do it anymore.

I'm out cold.

POV: Tobias

I get off my shift early and decide to hang out with Tris.

I hear a familiar voice yell my name. Four.

Tris.

I run as fast as I can searching the compound for her.

I couldn't find her. I surveyed nearly every hallway, and every corner.

What if I can't get to her in time.

What if I'm to late?

I turn a corner and feel a wave of relief rush over me. I see her fragile body laying on the metal floor.

Eric stands above her.

"What's wrong lover boy?" He chuckles.

I attempt to punch him but he blocks it.

I swing my leg and he falls to the ground.

I punch him across the face as many times as I can before he flips me over.

He kicks me in the shin, and I wince. I tackle him, punching him in the arm multiple times.

Before I notice it his fist had surged through my face, leaving it throbbing.

I punch him as hard as I can, and he finally gives up.

Tris, I mutter under my breath.

"Tobias.." She whispers and I can see the pain flash across her face.

"It's okay," I comfort her "I've got you."

I stroke her bruised cheek, very lightly avoiding any sort of pain.

I run her to the infirmary as fast as I can.

POV: Tris

I wake up weary from sleep.

I feel confused for a second, before remembering the recent events.

The door opens and Tobias walks inside the room.

"Tris," he remarks "Are you okay?

"Yeah," I suffice.

"Your cheek looks swollen," he adds.

"I'll be fine," I respond "Just get me outa this place."

"You have to stay," he insists "Your cheek hurts and you know it."

I nod, giving in and lay back down.

The nurse strolls in the room. "Oh Tris! Your up," she chirps "Are you feeling okay? Your broken wrist should really hurt."

"I thought it was just fractured," I wail glancing down at the cast weaves around my wrist.

"How is the baby?" Tobias mentions.

After the nurse hooked up a few machines she finally speaks.

"The baby is doing okay," she explains "Though that could have been very bad for it. I recommend you to try to do more relaxing things and sleep more often."

We both nod.

Tobias grasps my hand, and guides me out of the room.

I don't want to show him my pain but my ribs and legs hurt really bad.

He glances back at me. "Your hurting" he states.

"No, no I'm fine," I insist but he carefully lays me in his arms.

I lay my head into his shoulder as carries me home.
