Chapter Twenty-Six: Jet

Hiro blinked. "What if they get mad we came uninvited?" he asked.

(O/Y/N) shook her head. "I called Hoshi a while ago, and she said it was okay. I don't know about Michiko, though." She faced the water lapping at the sand. "She didn't bother to keep in touch with me."

You felt a twinge of sadness. For some reason, her last statement reminded you of your old friends, and how you didn't bother to talk to them after you moved. They texted you for the first few weeks, but you never bothered to reply. Then they stopped.

One thought led to another, and something popped into your head. Oh, god, what if one of them died sometime after I left? And I never knew? You shook your head softly. That wouldn't happen. I hope.

"So, uh," you cleared your throat. "How exactly are you going to get off this island?" You looked meaningfully at Mitsuo.

"I have it handled," he replied. His dark eyes turned back to the night sky. "There it is."

You followed his gaze. "I don't see anything."

"Of course you don't," Mitsuo answered, his voice slightly smug. You huffed. Mitsuo chuckled at that, then looked back up. "I got one of my old acquaintances to come and get us."

And sure enough, the roar of a jet filled your ears, and you flinched. "And who is that, exactly?"

"Katsu," was his short reply.

You were bewildered, but (O/Y/N)'s mouth fell open. "No way," she breathed.

"Yes, way," Mitsuo responded. "What's so surprising about that?" He watched the jet get larger, then swooped over your head and landed somewhere in the forest.

You watched him start walking toward the trees. Suddenly feeling awkward, you looked over at (O/Y/N). "Do they even have a spot big enough for a jet landing?"

She simply shrugged. "Let's follow them. Maybe we can hitch a ride as well." She wiggled her eyebrows.

"What! What about Baymax?" Hiro protested. He hugged Baymax protectively, which Baymax returned.

"Hiro, it's better if we have a jet. We won't get weird looks when we land, and it's safer. Unless Katsu doesn't even know how to work it," (O/Y/N) argued.

Hiro puffed out his cheeks. "Fine."

The four of you began to walk towards the jet, which was flashing lights. The trees cleared away to reveal a huge clearing, and the large flying vehicle in the middle.

Hiro whistled. "Sweet. That looks cool." He paused. "Still like Baymax better, though."

"Right," you muttered.

The door opened, and you were surprised to see two people hop out. "Who's the other person?" you asked.

You studied the male. Spiky brown hair and a toothpaste-commercial grin. "Hey, Mitsuo!" he called. "So you're finally brave enough to contact me and ask for help?" He nudged his old friend playfully, which Mitsuo disregarded.

"Enough, Katsu. I just want to get to New York," Mitsuo said sternly.

"Still as cold as ever. So, you guys are Mitsuo's brothers? That's cool. Who's - what the hell?" he frowned at (O/Y/N) and Hiro. "What are they doing here?"

Hiro just had this little smile on his face, and (O/Y/N) struck a pose. "What's wrong? Can't handle the fabulousness?" she asked.

"You've certainly changed," Katsu remarked. "Back on track. How many people ar-"

"(O/Y/N)!" The other person, which you could now identify as a female, rushed forward and hugged (O/Y/N).

"Is that Hoshi?" you asked Hiro. He nodded.

"At least you don't need to travel far to ask them questions. They're right here," Hiro pointed out.

While everyone was having a happy reunion, a guy slid up to you. "You look pretty lonely," he greeted.

You recognized the scarf around his neck. "Oh. Takeshi, right?"

A Cheshire Cat grin spread across his face. "I'm glad you remembered, because soon you'll be scr-" His words were cut off when Mitsuo took a fistful of his hair and began dragging him away.

You shook your head, and turned back to your friends, who were watching Hoshi beg for Katsu to let Hiro, (O/Y/N), and you board the plane.

Before you knew it, you were sitting in a plane seat. "Uh, does this guy have a certificate?" you asked.

Hoshi laughed. "Of course he does."

(O/Y/N) deadpanned. "And let's guess who provided most of the money to get him this plane."

A look of guilt spread across the brunette's face. Then it flushed with embarrassment when Baymax spoke.

"Scan complete. Diagnosis: pregnancy. Three months," he said. His big, squishy frame was mushed into the aisle.

"Y-you scanned me?" Hoshi mumbled.

(O/Y/N) leaned over and wiggled her eyebrows. "Oooooh," she said.

You chuckled at the scene in front of you. "Hey, Hoshi."

She looked up from arguing with her stepsister. "Huh?"

You nodded politely. "I've heard a lot about you from-" you glanced at (O/Y/N)- "some people. Uh, I'm (Y/N). . . and I need to ask you a couple of questions."
