Meera and Piya’s faces fell in shock.
“Kya tumne Yash ke saath class bunk ki?” Meera asked.

Shivani nodded softly. “Haan.”

Piya said firmly, “Tumne hume mana kiya tha ki tum bunk nahi karogi, aur khud Yash ke saath chali gayi?”

Meera clutched her heart as if betrayed by Shivani’s bunk. She dramatically sang, “Dost dost na raha, pyaar pyaar na raha…”

Meera continued, “Hume tumse ye umeed nahi thi, Shivani. You broke us.”
Shivani stood like a guilty child. “Sorry…” she whispered, barely audible.

Meera and Piya chuckled, trying to hide their smiles behind fake anger.

Meanwhile, Yash controlled himself and stood quietly watching them. Rohan and Karan joined the group just then.

Yash finally broke the silence. “Bas bhi karo. Agar Shivani mere saath aa bhi gayi toh tum dono ko kya problem hai? Aur jalo mat, jal kukdi,” he said with sarcasm.

Piya and Meera’s mouths dropped open in disbelief.

Shivani shook her head. “I’m sorry, guys. I know maine tum dono ko mana kiya tha, aur main bina bataye chali gayi thi.”
She sighed. “Aur Yash, mere friends mujhse kabhi nahi jalte. They were just worried.”

Meera and Piya exchanged glances. Meera said, “Haan, we were just worried because Shivani ne hume informed nahi kiya tha.”

Yash replied dryly, “Ohh, toh tum keh rahi ho hum invitation bhej kar jaate? ‘Haan, we are bunking.’”

Piya and Meera rolled their eyes and pulled Shivani away with them.

Rohan smirked. “Wahh, hume chhodkar tune bunk kiya? Cheater saale.”
Karan added, “Haan, cheater hai ye. Cheater, cheater!”

Yash swallowed hard, wanting to beat the hell out of his friends. He sighed in frustration and walked away.

Shivani looked at her friends, who were smirking at her. She looked at them and said, “Aise kyun ghoor rahe ho dono?”
Piya smiled mischievously. “Humein pata nahi tha tum itni tez niklogi.”
Shivani, being Shivani, replied, “Ismein tez hone ki kya baat hai?”
Meera hit her forehead. “Arrey Shivani, tu toh rehne de bhaiii.”
Shivani shrugged just as she noticed Yash walking near the basketball court.

She thought to herself, “Ye kahan jaa raha hai?”
Without saying a word, she followed him. Piya and Meera called out to her, but she didn’t hear them.

Yash sat lazily on a chair, his mind replaying today’s moments with Shivani—her smile, her laughter. She quietly sat beside him.
“Kya hua tumhe? Ruthe hue dulhan jaisa muh kyun latka hua hai?” she teased.
But he remained quiet.

After some time, he broke the silence. “Mujhe achha nahi laga jis tarah Meera aur Piya tumse baat kar rahe the.”
She looked at him in panic. “Arrey nahi nahi, un dono ne sirf mazaak kiya.”
He nodded. “I know. They care about you.”
Turning towards her, he added softly, “I don’t know… I just wanted to spend some time with you.”

Her heart thudded like a drum.

He looked at her, his heart speaking the words his lips couldn’t.

“Tumhe kaise bataun main kya-kya sochne laga hoon. Sach kahun toh tumhe main sirf ek annoying, cold insaan dikhta hoon. Par sach yeh hai ki mera dil, meri soul, meri aankhen—sab tumhe hi dekhna chahti hain. Pata nahi aisa kya hai tumhari aankhon mein jo mujhe kheench leta hai. Sometimes I just want to stop time and stare into your eyes. Your eyes are like an ocean to me—jitni baar dekhoon, utna hi doob na chahta hoon.”
