Avi's POV

Ugh. I can't reach, wait, I almost, nope. I can't reach it. Who the heck even put it all the way up there? Maybe if I get on my very tippy toes, I can reach. Almost...
"OUCH!" I grunt when I hit the ground with a thud.

"Avi?" I hear Scott's big footsteps heading toward the front of the bus.

"Yeah?" I ask, my voice nearly shaking with embarrassment.

"You okay?" He asks slowly when he sees me lying on the floor.

"Yes and no." I said with a pout.

"Good and why?" He asks.

"Smartass." I mumble under my breath.

"What was that?" He asks smirking.

"You heard me." I said, slowly sitting up Indian style.

"Yeah, I did. So my question to you is, why are you not okay and why are you on the floor?" He says.

"Technically, that's two questions." I say with a smirk.

"Now who's the smartass, hmm?" He asks.

"At least I'm not the dumb one." I say as I finally stand up.

"...Hey! Just answer my questions!" He says, slightly annoyed that I out smarted him.

"Okay, the answer to your first question is, I'm hungry and the answer to your second question is, I can't reach the Lucky Charms." I said with a slight blush.

"Oh sorry, I had to keep them away from Mitch before he licked all the marshmallows and put them back in the box. But, still, how'd you end up on the floor?" He asked, grabbing the box from on top of the cabinet.

"Oh. Thank you for saving the Lucky Charms and I was up on my tippy toes when we hit a bump and yeah..." I said trailing off, my face red from the embarrassment of my clumsiness.

"Oh, okay. You busted it, didn't you?" He asks with a chuckle.

"No, well, yeah..." I'm beyond the point of embarrassment.

"Hey, it's okay." He says, giving me a hug.

"Thanks for getting these down for me." I say, shaking the box a little.

"No problem." He says, smiling.

"You want some?" I ask. He let go of me.

"No, I'm okay. Can I talk to you about something?" He asks hesitantly.

"Yeah, go for it." I say, closing the box and giving it to Scott to hide. He hides the box behind the paper towel rolls in the cabinet.

"Can you reach it?" He asks, looking for my approval. I nod my head yes and sit down with my bowl of cereal. He takes a seat across from me.

"Okay," He takes a deep breath. "What would you do if you liked someone that you knew you couldn't have and they happened to be one of your best friends?" He asks in all seriousness.

"Well, it depends on what level this like is at. If it's at, "have you always been this cute" like, then you wait to see if you start to feel more strongly for this person, then go from there. Now if you're at, "can't sleep love" like, then you have to tell them. It'll just keep eating at you 'til you lose your mind." I answered truthfully.

"You really think so?" He asks nervously.

"Yeah, even if they don't like you back, it's better to get it off your chest. And, who knows, they might like back but never realized it because they didn't know you had feelings for them. Besides, if they're one of your best friends, nothing should change that." I reassured him. I wonder who he's talking about? It couldn't be me, he doesn't know I'm bisexual. Nobody does. I prefer women but, there are some guys that I find very attractive, like Scott.

"Thanks Avi. I should've talked to you years ago." He said standing up. "Do you want to come watch the movie with us?" He asks, referring to the rest of group.

"No thank you. I think I'm gonna finish my cereal and take a nap." I say.

"Alright but, if you change your mind, you know where we are." He says walking back to the back of the bus to finish the movie.
I sat there quietly, thinking of anybody he could possibly be interested in. I think of anybody that could possibly be interested in him, including me.

Next day.

I woke up hungry! I slept through dinner last night and we are still on the road. I need food, now! I get up and go straight for the hidden cereal. I get my bowl and when I go to pour the cereal, there is a note, folded neatly in the bag with my name written on it.

~~~
Dear Avi,
I didn't know what to do until yesterday. I like you a lot and I know that you're straight so, I'm not going to make you love me the way I love you. I couldn't muster up the courage say it out loud but, I love you. I have for almost a year now and I decided that you deserved to know. Please, all I ask of you is to remain one of my best friends. I'd rather have you in my life as a friend than not at all. I'm sorry if this makes you feel awkward.
Love,
The Only Other Person On This Bus Who Knows Where The Lucky Charms Were Hidden.
"I totally understand that you don't feel the same but, you really did deserve to know." He said from behind me. I jumped at the sound of his voice.
"How'd you know I was up?" I asked, setting the note down.
"I've been up for a while." He said sadly.
"There's something you don't know about me." I said turning to face him. "I don't like just girls, Scott. I just happen to not be very interested in any guys lately." His face fell. "I do happen to be interested in a giant though." He smirked.
"Oh really?" He asks hopefully.
"Yeah, but remember, I haven't been with a guy before. That doesn't mean I haven't had random crushes. Even though, I'm starting think I'm falling for a giant with blue eyes." I say.
"Well then, I guess we just have to wait and see what happens then." He says carefully.
"I think I'd like that." I say blushing.
"No matter what happens, I promise to be the perfect gentleman and a gentle giant." He said, wrapping his arms around me.
"Okay..."
