"Actually you can hug me if you want," Boe said with a smirk. "I wouldn't mind that."

"So, who is he then?" Nanami asked, steering the conversation back before it got too lost. "Is he someone we can trust?"

Geto started to shake his head, but Boe spoke up first. "Yeah, he's good," she said with a nod. "The legends about him said he was just Seimei's rival and not a lot else. It's more like he was just a powerful dude living out here by himself."

"So why does he hate Seimei so much?" They asked. "Did they have a big beef or something?"

"Sort of?" Boe hummed, narrowing her eyes. She glanced towards the door. "Let's talk about this later," she whispered, then straightened up her back and tucked her arms into her sleeves. "I'll rooms prepared for you," she said, "then after dinner tonight we can talk."

Geto scoffed. "Oh? Do you have that kind of authority here?"

"Yes," she said, taking a step back. "I do."

Geto sat at the far end of the table at dinner, watching Boe doing her best to piss him off. She was sitting right beside that man as if she wanted to be there, laughing at his jokes and smiling. It was all a big performance, he knew that, but it made him want to get up and strangle that pompous freak.

"Ohh, you're in so much trouble."

Geto's eyes flicked beside him to Sarah covering their mouth and the smile on their face. That was probably Gojo's outburst — he couldn't resist. What an ass.

"Sorry," Sarah's voice muttered, then gradually faded back into Satoru's pitch, "She'll understand when you tell her."

"No she won't," Geto scoffed, looking away as Boe picked a slice of something of that man's plate. "She's doing this to piss me off. She's going to drag this out until she feels better."

"That seems kinda mean," They pouted beside him, flicking at their food. They paused for a moment. "She's really upset that you weren't there for her."

"I am aware," Geto grunted, picking up his bowl to shove rice into his mouth and not talk anymore. That wasn't going to work, he could feel them sitting beside him start to shift a little nervously. That was proving to be a combination of Sarah's awkwardness shoving back against Satoru's bluntness. He was getting more and more used to reading them when they were together.

"Then maybe don't let her work you up?" They spat, then closed their mouth. Geto huffed again, then watched as their chopsticks suddenly scooped up some of the food and tried to shove it into their mouth.

"Don't you dare stop me from eating this Satoru," they muttered, forcing their chopsticks up closer their mouth. "Fermented things are good for us," they grit, "I don't care if you don't like it." Then they shook their head and smiled at Geto. "Just don't be a brat about it," they forced out before the food was shoved into their mouth. They grunted and chewed, looking down at the little table in front of them with a scowl.

Geto's brows raised and he glanced at Nanami. He also seemed to noticed whatever was happening in there and shared a concerned look with Geto. But then—

"So, tell me friends," Dōman said, smiling over at their group, "what kept you? Has your investigation borne fruit?" His eyes scanned over each of them and he already knew better than to push his luck too far.

Geto straightened his posture and a smile appeared on his face as well. His eyes narrowed just as Dōman's did and neither man spoke for a moment.

"Yes, actually," Geto answered smoothly. Then he asked, "And how are things with Abe no Seimei? I've not seen him since the attack on his castle by Sukuna. I'd heard he was out there himself facing the curses."
