Eyes scanning lines
On the page,
Mind drinking in
Every word written.
Hands shaking more
And more with every
Page turn.
Heart pumping
Harder and harder.
Fear clawing it's way
Through my body.
Anticipation causing
Me to sweat.
My chest hurts more
And more with every line
And it's getting hard to breathe.
I grip the book
Tighter
And closer to me
As if I were afraid
It was going to leap
Out of my hands
And devour me.
Why am I reading
This book still if
It causes so much terror?
Usually I read to feel
Someone else's reality
But this time I think
It's to experience
Someone else's pain
And terror so that
I can convince myself
That there is nothing
To be afraid of
In mine.

So this is based on the series that I'm reading now called the Dark Passages and the first book is called White Space. It's an absolutely amazing book, even if it is horror! But I love horror. The best part is actually not being able to figure out what is going to happen or what is going on and how everything connects. Usually I can tell where a story is going and even the plot twists but this book is different. I had one theory and I was wrong! I love that in a book so if you're into horror I would strongly recommend it! Oh and sorry this is late!
