Author's POV:-
It was the day of Teej, and Gauri had woken up before sunrise. The house was still quiet, but she was already busy with the preparations for the puja. Her hair was still damp from the bath she had taken, and the soft fragrance of rose water lingered around her as she arranged the thali carefully.
Savita stood beside her, giving gentle instructions one by one, and Gauri followed each step with complete sincerity. From arranging the flowers to placing the diya, she did everything exactly as her saas taught her.
Madhav had already finished his breakfast and now getting ready to go to field.
'Suniye ji..aj shaam ko na zara jaldi aana..' Gauri said while correcting his collar.
(“Listen ji… come home a little early this evening,”)
He smiles, 'Kyu aaj bhi tujhe kya bazaar jana hain??'
(“Why? Do you want to go to the market again today?”)
She shook her head, 'Nahi bas aise hi aap jaldi aa jana ...'
(“No… just come early, that’s all…”)
He nodded his head shifting her hair strand to the side, 'Ab humare biwi ne aadesh diya hain toh hum kyu na aay jaldi??'
(“Well, since my wife has given an order, how can I not come early?”)
She chuckles, 'Kuch bhi haa??'
(“You say anything, don’t you?”)

Later all the married women of the village, along with Gauri and Savita, came to the temple to perform the puja of Lord Shiv and Goddess Parvati. They prayed sincerely for the long life and happiness of their husbands.
But where there are women aur waha gossip na ho aisa kabhi ho sakta hain kya??
Gauri and a few other women of her age sat together in the shaded area behind the temple. It wasn’t too crowded there, making it a comfortable spot where people could sit, relax, and talk freely.
“Aur batao humari nayi naveli dulhan… humari Gauri ji… kaise chal rahi hain apni shaadi-shuda zindagi? Humare Madhav bhaiya khush toh rakh rahe hain na apni patni ko?” Payal, one woman, asked her.
(“So tell us, our newlywed bride… our Gauri ji… how is your married life going? Is our Madhav bhaiya keeping his wife happy?”)
Gauri smiled lightly in response.
“Aur humare Madhav bhaiya ache se pyaar vyaar toh kar rahe hain na?” another woman, Usha, asked her teasingly, making her shocked.
(“And is our Madhav bhaiya giving you all the love and affection?”)
Her cheeks flushed with redness; she didn’t know what to say and looked down at the thaali.
“Are dekho toh kaise sharma rahi hain… are hum sab toh tumhare apne hi hain… humse kaise sharam haa?” Usha nudged her, making everyone laugh.
(“Look at her blushing… come on, we are all your own people… why be shy with us?”)
“Madhav toh dekhne mein bohot hi shaant prakar ke lagte hain… kya kamre mein bhi aise hi shaant rehte hain ya gabbar sher ban jaate hain biwi ko akele paakar?” the other woman, Sheela, asked.
(“Madhav looks very calm and soft-natured… is he the same inside the room too, or does he turn into a roaring lion when he finds his wife all alone?” )
