All his life, Earnest Watts believed that there were many types of people in the world. He decided that was in fact, not true. There are eleven.
1. Careless
2. Manipulative
3. Kind
4. Greedy
5. Callous
6. Protective
7. Boastful
8. Desolate
9. Jealous
10. Cautious
When Earnest originally wrote this list, he had not yet encountered the eleventh type of individual. Having met many souls throughout his life — especially as a cabby — and being a rather stubborn person, he had refused to acknowledge the possibility of an eleventh type of individual in the world. And for some time, he ignored it, as Earnest was a strong believer in even numbers.
Earnest still to this day only lists ten, for he considers the last type to be the most wonderful and the rarest of them all — and it only comes in the form of the mystically beautiful Madelyn Moore.
For that specific reason, he of course found himself deeply and infatuatedly in love with her.
