Bundle Madness Drabble Part 86

"Brother." The child voice very sleepy but able to slur out the word.

Eyes soften. "He not in bed."

Head shake yes with a yawn coming out. "Want brother."

"I'll go get them." Held them close as she walks them to his bed room.

It was once her own bed room before she took over her parents' room. Able to turn it to a bedroom for the sibling to share. Not the biggest room but able to get it to work out for the pair. Neither of the never complaining about it.

Place the child down in the bed. Goes to crank up a music box she was able to find at one the stores. One of the things to get Moxxie to sleep, next to singing. Put the blanket back over them. Her finger brushed his freckle cheeks until she watches his eye lid closes.

Leaves the bedroom to go search for Error. It rare for them to leave Moxxie side or sight. Besides the last few days. When Moxxie goes to bed at least. Not for a long-time mind you but it can be a little concerning.

Got a few ideas where they could be. Plus, wouldn't go too far for Moxxie sake. Checks every door in the house to her bedroom, cabinets, the workroom, attic and basement. No, one around. Time for the next spot.

Goes outside to walk towards the small barn and garage. Open one of the doors as she looks around. Until she found who she was looking for.

Error was huddle up in the pickup truck bed.

"Not doing well kiddo." Goes to pull herself up and climb over the tailgate. Sat on the side. Not to close but enough for them to see her. Held a blanket with her that she brought along.

No, vocal response. Head did lift up slightly to see their own gold eyes. Scarf lower down to see their scars that made it look like they were crying.

"Moxxie woke up. Didn't see you in bed." She watches their eyes lowered down. Tail curls up around themselves. "Did you have a bad dream?"

"Don't sleep."

"Right of course." Doesn't fully believe it but does believe they do rest or nap. Nothing too long to be back up. It was very alarming at the beginning. Always awake before her. "Did you need space?"

No, response again but their body curled up closer.

"That's fine you know."

"I shouldn't."

"Why?"

"Moxxie."

Always thinks about him first.

"Moxxie is safe in bed. I even double check the window, doors and their music playing." That your still also a kid that need their own time. Tail slowly brushes the younger one own in comfort. The tail flinch but didn't pull away but not to push it. It was a big step up compared to before.

Doesn't say anything besides looking back down at the ground.

"I'll be in the living room to finished up. The door will stay unlock on the side to enter." Move a little closer. Careful to wrap the blanket around them. "No, hotwiring and taking the truck to start a war out here with the rodents."

A small snort with am eyeroll. Not seem to realize or care how their face softens up. "They started it."

"I bet they sure did." A grin on her face. Hope out from the bed as she lands on the ground. Goes to walks off. Stop for a second to look at them until she walks on back to the house.

Not too far away from Error.

Error now alone again in the barn. Body able to relax a bit. Held the blanket close to them. Not because they needed warmth. No, it was the implication how she did that on her own free will.
