The food in hell is terrible.

Let's rephrase that.

Some, if all, of the food is terrible. Ingredients being used can be decent so to say but it not the same either. It will never be perfect. It will never be mouthwatering delicious. It will never be like what one would be considered home. It will never be normal to say the least. It won't ever give you the nutrients you fully need.

The only ones who remember what food of paradise taste like is Lucifer. While Lilith able to try some of the food he brought her by making it appeared. Along with the food from the Garden. Even Lucifer grungily will admit he missed the garden food as well. All taken for granted. In in the past the two royals of Pride could confront Beelzebub, Satan to see about making it close as possible to eat. With Bee ability to make food as tasteful as possible. It was harder than many think. So, able to do what they can to favorable, even if really just in the sweet and certain alcohol department. Then you got Satan with his imps being farmers and providing food as well in a dangerous environment.

Humans from Earth who died to go to Hell can understand too. Yes, so much free will, choices they do to keep sinning, pull back into addictive choices of everything around. But many even those from centuries ago will say how they missed things from Earth. Either it be the colors of the sky. The clouds. Vehicles human made. Music. Books. Art. Yes, later on tech, not just Voxtech but many others that were rivals, was able to 'hack' into Earth TVs to watch what brought over. That surprisingly easier compared to trying to get to the other rings. Which epic failure and can't make that kind of business. Besides socials. Any who, while hack on Earth TVs to get in touch to what going on Earth. Sometimes Heaven too but barely. Socials. Cell phone. Only able to watch but moments get broken off loose connection to Earth. Sometimes for the best when sinners began to think too hard. A deep loathing if stare too long. It also a cruel reminder what they won't see sometimes. Won't be able to eat, taste what use to be good. Many never gotten to taste what good if they were poor and just trying to survive as humans.

For Hellborns they tolerate it, use to it or like you should be happy to get food so stop complaining. Not to be broken or starved on the streets. it. It is what they know. If you have big money, status or noble like a Goetia. Sinners too. Fine, you can get better taste of what food could be. Or lucky to go to crazy parties. Not that the ones with money will admit it out loud it's not any better. Better taste to swallow down. Laugh about. Show off what they can eat.
