The Night Before the Festival

"Here we go!" Mina clapped her hands, her energy contagious as the dance team reset into their starting positions. "From the top! Tap, tap, two! Tap, tap, two! Tap, tap, two, tap, two! Tap, tap, two! Up!"

She pointed across the stage, her voice sharp and commanding. "Aoyama, center. Midoriya, run offstage!"

"Oui!" Aoyama struck a dramatic pose.

"Roger!" Midoriya called, dashing to his mark.

Mina's eyes narrowed as she watched Midoriya's movements. "Midoriya! Your moves are still too half-hearted. Focus! Put your energy into it!"

"Okay!" Midoriya shouted, his voice cracking slightly as he sprinted off to the side, heading toward the ceiling for his next cue.

Sitting cross-legged on the floor, Kirishima watched the scene unfold with a grin. "Before we started, I was worried we'd seem amateurish, but the band and the dance team are way better than I expected, huh?"

Sero, lounging beside him, chuckled. "Yeah, but Mina's an unexpectedly tough coach. She's not holding back."

"Because she loves dancing," Kirishima said with a nod. "When she's serious about something, she goes all in."

From across the room, Jiro adjusted her guitar strap, her sharp eyes flicking toward Bakugo and Kaminari. "Don't improvise anything weird during the performance," she warned, her tone firm.

"Huh?" Bakugo raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed.

Remi, standing nearby, exchanged a knowing glance with Jiro. The two had spent hours refining the music, but the boys had a habit of veering off-script. "It'll confuse people," Tokoyami added, his voice low and steady.

Before anyone could respond, the door slammed open with a loud bang, startling the entire class. Hound Dog stood in the doorway, his imposing figure silhouetted against the hallway lights.

"It's already nine o'clock! Students should only be here till nine!" he barked, his voice a mix of growls and unintelligible yelling.

"Ah, shoot! Let's go home!" Kirishima said, scrambling to his feet as the class erupted into chaos. Everyone rushed to gather their things, Hound Dog's growls chasing them out the door.

Once outside, the tension broke, and a few students burst into laughter. Groups began to split off, heading back to the dorms.

The dorm kitchen was buzzing with activity as students rushed to prepare their meals for the evening. Pots clanged, pans sizzled, and laughter echoed through the space as everyone worked together or, in some cases, tried to stay out of each other's way.

Remi stood at the counter, focused on a chopping board in front of her. Her good eye narrowed in concentration as she carefully diced an onion, but her depth perception betrayed her, and the blade caught the edge of her finger instead.

"damn it," Remi muttered, pulling her hand back and examining the small cut. It wasn't bad, but it stung, and her frustration bubbled to the surface.

She sealed the wound, her jaw tightening as she glared at the onion.

"Remi?" Mina's voice cut through the noise as she appeared at her side. She tilted her head "You good?"

"I'm fine," Remi replied quickly, her tone sharper than she meant. She sighed, softening her voice. "It's just... this is harder than I thought with, you know, only half my vision." the cut on her finger pulled back together.
