The sun shone into Ella's bedroom. She immediately got out of bed and pulled the curtains closed. The sun was a vampire's natural enemy, of course there was garlic, but it was easy to escape from it just drink the water right away. Cold water is better. Ella fell back into bed and started thinking about today.
The curtains had been opened by her brother, Freis, to make sure Ella didn't miss her first day at the Aylesbury Academy. An academy where all vampires, werewolves and of course moonpires study. Some are bullying moonpires because they are a type of vampire, but all the abilities that vampires can do all the time, moonpires can only do Full moon day. Ella is determined to protect the moonpires if anyone is in her class. She doesn't like that moonpires is bullied.
Ella finally gets out of bed and opens her closet. She needs clothes that show her personality but don't violate the dress code. Vampires need to wear black, werewolves need to wear silver, and moonpires need to wear light. But of course all vampires wear black clothes anyway. Ella sometimes reads human's books and always laughs that in the books vampires are mentioned as evil creatures and they wear black because the black color reflects that vampires have no emotions. What stupid stereotypes! Ella has dreamed many times of meeting at least one human, but she has never met one. She must be at least a hundred years old to enter the human world. This world in which they all live is protected and no human will ever enter here and has never entered. A vampire or werewolf or moonpire needs to be 100 years old, because a younger one won't be as responsible.. Bla Bla Bla. Ella never listened when her parents talked about responsibility. She and Freis always went to their rooms because they didn't want to hear that they are too young.
Finally, Ella finds a black dress in her closet that fits, but not too tight. She also needs a big black hat to keep the sun off her head. Ella has always thought that werewolves and moonpires have an easy life. They don't burn in the sun! They can safely enjoy the heat without thinking that this could be their last day. Although... the life of moonpires is not easy. But werewolves absolutely have an easy life!
Before Ella could put on her black dress, Freis entered her room. Her older brother, who will be starting his second year this year at the Aylesbury Academy. Freis is the kind of vampire who always knows he's needed. And he's not wrong, Ella really needs him now.
-Freis! Do you ever knock before coming in? - Ella looks at Freis, who is now knocking - That doesn't count, Freis.
-Don't knock if your little sister needs you. What do you need this time? - the black-haired vampire with blue eyes asks. Freis has already put on his black shirt and black pants, the sleeves rolled up to the elbows.
-I found what I'm going to wear, but I can't find the hat in the closet. - Ella answers by looking at the black dress.
Freis walks over to her closet and starts looking for a hat. He throws out all the clothes and doesn't even notice that Ella is looking at him angrily.
-Seriously?! I'll need to sort all this out later! At least try to throw more neatly, if that's even possible. - Ella says angrily as she watches Freis throw her clothes out of her closet.
-Calm down, little sister. - Freis says, finally emerging from Ella's closet, holding a big black hat in his hands and smiling - What would you do without me?
Ella quickly snatches the hat from her brother's hands and throws it on her dress. Then Ella turns back to Freis.
-Now get out of my room. I need to change.
-So soon? There's still plenty of time until the first class of your first day at the Academy. - Freis says, putting his hands in his pants pockets.
-Thanks to you, no. After I change, I'll need to put all the clothes you threw back in the closet. - Ella replies angrily.
-You can do it when we get home from the Academy. - Freis answers carelessly.
-No, I can't. I don't want to be punished by Mother because of you. Or worse, by Father.
-Okay, okay. - Freis walks out of Ella's room backwards with his hands raised, he always walked out of her room like that if Ella was angry at him.
Ella went to the door and closed it. She took off her nightgown and started to put on her black dress. Ella really wanted the dress to fit her because she wouldn't have time to go to the store.
After two tiring minutes, Ella was finally in her dress. She was happy, but there was no time for joy, she needed to put all clothes back in her closet. Ella started organizing her closet. Maybe Ella won't make it, maybe she will. But she hopes she will, because being late on the first day is a bad first impression.
