With the same thoughts about Bruno running through my mind, I walked to the canteen.
It was too crowded, and there was no place to sit. My stomach was growling, so I bought a sandwich and started eating while standing near the counter.
Then came Bruno, holding a salad bowl, scanning the room for a place to sit.
Without even realizing it, my hand started waving at him, calling him over.
"Oh, hi!" he said with a warm smile.
I froze for a second , I had no idea how to start a conversation.
"H... hi, Bruno," I managed to say softly.
He chuckled. "Oh nice, you know my name. What's yours?"
"I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Julie, second year," I replied quickly.
"Good! I'm doing my second year too," he smirked playfully.
I smiled and asked about his previous university.
He replied, "My old university didn't have a great education system, so I transferred here. I'm continuing my second year now."
I nodded and turned to throw my trash in the dustbin.
Just then, a random guy rushed past me, accidentally pushing me, and I landed right into Bruno's arms.
"Are you okay?" he whispered gently.
"Yes... I'm totally fine," I said, my heart racing.
I stood up from his hold, threw the trash, and quickly walked out of the canteen.
I went straight to the garden and sat down, my thoughts spinning around Bruno.
A few minutes later, he appeared , holding a small bandaid.
He came closer, took my hand gently, and placed the bandaid over a scratch I hadn't even noticed.
That's when I realized, the guy who bumped into me had slightly scratched my hand.
Bruno kept asking if I was okay, his eyes filled with concern.
And in that moment, I couldn't help but think ,
Why do I feel such a strong connection with someone I just met?
