The dainty red postbox sang my name, begging me to take a look.
I knew it was in there. It had to be.

Walk away. Walk away, Annabelle.

Forcing one foot in front of the other, I almost managed to ignore it.
Almost, as in, wonderfully unsuccessful.
I retreated within seconds, hastily thrusting my hand into the tin box, and scrounging around until I managed to pull out the letter.

It was similar to an out-of-body experience, watching myself shamefully tear open the report addressed to my parents. I skimmed over the straight A's, as my saddened chestnut eyes found the bulging C that stained my grades. Disappointment raged inside of me like an ugly ghost.
I had to hide this. Fast.
This had to be fixed..
